Re: How bad are these Pats injured?

I'm pretty sure SPIKES IS NOT INJURED, or the injury may not be the biggest trouble...after all his twitter talk, he doesn't seem to be doing any therapy or anything with the patriots facilities .... and the other day, about 6 people included me wrote him "we rather see you get healthy and back on the field" and his respond was " you guys are so FAR OUT IN LEFT FIELD " so I'm pretty sure its not an injury.... maybe we wont see his as a pat this year
I dont do Twitter of Yearbook or Myface or any of that stuff, but I think you can post those here right? Would yuo be so kind to do that?

Although Spikes tweets far too much, I seriously doubt there is anything to what you are saying. I seriously doubt he is not doing any therapy or not at the Patriots facilities. After two weeks, there would be at least rumors that he had more of a problem than an injury. If he was in danger of being cut, he there would be rumors too.

All we really know is that he was working with the first defense and was one of the stars of the early part of camp and he is now not practicing due to an undisclosed injury. The Pats did not try to acquire a new MLB until Fletcher was injured and rather than going for a guy who could play significant playing time, they went for a guy who is mostly a special teamer who Mike Reiss said tonight on Twitter is a long shot to make the team and is there for a body in camp. And a guy like Lofta Tatupu is still available.

Actually Koutavides was acquired before Fletcher was injured, but there really isn't any relevance.

Forgot about him, but he is a long shot to make the final roster anyway.

true this is all we know.. but after all the stuff spikes been saying on twitter.. he is either not happy with the PATS or just trying to start ****

some of his comments there not word for word but something like this :
1. can't wait to be out of here , blah blah .. 2 years
2.. he changed his location IN HELL
3. what i mentioned above about the far out in left field.

... someone had a lot of more stuff he said on twitter in the Spikes thread started... I mean I hope its an injury rather than him being in fights with the organization but its just not seeming that way

But I did google Brandon Spikes Twitter, and found his account but found nothing like those.

That was an old account.... I think from college. Or an impostor. I saw that one too.

His verified twitter feed is @bspikes55

Thats the one I am talking about, not the college one. There is nothing resembling those comments

There's an interesting dynamic with some of these injured players this year.

First, the Pats are currently well under the cap.
Second, they are extremely deep at some positions.

Those two trends could indicate greater willingness to keep players on PUP or place them on IR.

For example:

Kevin Faulk - best thing for him and the team is to keep him on PUP as long as possible, and then see whether the team needs him when he is ready. He is always a great locker room leader, team first guy. Give him another two months to recover.

Ron Brace & Brandon Deaderick - deep on the depth chart now behind Haynesworth, Love, Pryor, and Warren. Also probably better for them to be on PUP and see who is banged up in October/November.

Wright - could be trouble.

Vereen - sort of easy to pick up some aspects of first down back; less so for a third down back like him. He is another candidate for IR

Cunningham - this board was extremely high on him two months ago, when the thinking was 'since Belichick didn't draft any OLB's, it proves they really like Cunningham.' A bad week of camp, and then overshadowed by Anderson and Carter. He could be a good run-stuffing OLB, or in the LDE rotation, but this definitely hurts him.

Spikes - who knows what's up. This guy certainly demonstrates bizarre behavior. The Patriots gave him a lot of opportunity last season, and he picked up the defense quickly. He doesn't seem like a Patriot kind of player right now. This could be the kind of guy that the lockout was really bad for.

He says crazy things then deletes them. The tweets in the referenced post were definitely there.

Mike Wright?

Shane Vereen?

Jermaine Cunningham?

Brandon Spikes?

We could use all of them this season.

vareen, not very just a pulled hamstring.
cunningham, not very
spikes, not very much at all, in BB's doghouse for being suspended and a general thug. Might be traded.

Are these typical twitter account posts because I'm about the rip me eyes out with a rusty fork so I'll won't have to subject myself to something so mind-numbingly idiotic ever again. It makes my brain hurt. Is this the reason 7/8 of the population can't take their eyes of their stupid phones for more than 2 seconds. Is this why dozens of oblivious morons swerve into my lane while driving every day. For the life of me, I truly don't understand why anybody would want to either write or read any of this, honestly why does anyone give a ****? As far as our current/former MLB/ILB, he sounds like he has the brain of a dimwitted twelve year old.

Bedard of the Globe in a Tweet this morning agreed that Ras-I and Vereen may be redshirted by landing on the IR.
"Greg_A_Bedard Greg A. Bedard
Yup. We'll see RT @RDM44: is it possible that ras and vereen are headed to the IR, effectively redshirting them"

As for the INVISIBLE MAN of this camp, Brandon Spikes (from a translation of his Tweeterese to English), it appears that Spikes may be suspended by BB/Pats for disciplinary reasons. If so, it explains the "b-s" and "just 2 more F** years" comments in his tweets.

OTOH, it is sheer insanity to speculate. As a great philosopher once said, "It is what it is"
