Trade-away potential on the DL?

We are "bursting" with DL players only if we think that there will be no moare injuries and that Wright, Fletcher and Ellis will be ready to play.

But I didn't say "DL" or "front 7," I said "DT." Why would Fletcher's injury possibly suggest keeping more DTs?

Phew .....

Still, that list is getting pretty short!

Don't worry, we still have Meriweather to kick around. Hopefully his occasional bonehead plays don't end up costing us a game.

I'd rather stash them some how, many of these guys AH, Carter, Warren, Anderson are over thirty and will most likely breakdown during the season. It happened last year and the year before. I doubt highly doubt AH, Warren or even A Carter will make it through the season.

They can stash Deaderick, Brace and Ellis for a while on the PUP, but for everybody else the options are (1) IR and not playing in 2011, (2) the 53 man roster, or (3) get cut.

We got a 6th for Brandon Gorin, so anything's possible.

A LITTLE ROUNDABOUT: have Bill find a team with some promising talent in CB & Safety positions that are thin on D-line. Make an even swap two for two. Then we approach a team (Minnesota-needs CB & S help) and offer B.M. & Wilhite-Butler or both for a 2,3 or 4 whatever we can get.

I think B.M. & Butler are cancers on the team and for that reason, would rather trade them now, rather than wait for a comp. pick next year.

Plus, doesn't it look like they are planning on moving ahead with a combo of Brown,Chung? Matt P. can only coach players that wil listen and Chung needs work on eliminating mistakes.

I have always thought that we would keep 15-16 fron seven players dfepending on health. And lately, many of us (including you) have recognized the overlapping nature of the DL and OLB positions.

I agree that that only the health of Ellis and Wright was directly responsive to your post.

HOWEVER, Fletcher is a very flexible player and has taken reps at OLB. I would think if Fletcher were put IR, we might very well keep another DE/OLB. But you are correct, none of these are DT's.
