It's too hard to find good OLB's in the 34. There's only a handful in this league. 2 on Pittsburgh, Mathews, Orakpo, and DeMarcus Ware. Other than that? Really not too many good 34 OLBs. That's only 5 in the entire league. There's been far more BUSTS at 34 OLB (Gholston, Crable, Maybin, etc)
The switch to 43 is an instant bandaid for the pass rush. There's less learning curve for new players brought in like Anderson and Carter.
Haynesworth is a beast in the 43.
Mayo was a tackling machine in the 34, but he looks like a playmaker in the 43.
Our pass rush weakness last year will now be a strength. I love how this D is attacking now.
