Tom Brady - QB - Patriots

Tom Brady has reportedly been "absurdly accurate" and "rapid-fire in his decision-making" through two weeks of Patriots camp.
CSN New England's Tom Curran points out that not enough was made of Brady's unanimous 2010 MVP award -- the first time that's happened in NFL history -- while setting the league record for consecutive passes without an interception and posting a 36:4 TD-to-INT ratio. He's certainly in a groove. Brady's been the No. 1 fantasy quarterback in two of his last three full seasons.

Ok, and I've heard he's been off to a real slow start. I don't know why I read the TC reports after practice every day, they always contradict each other.

He did look a little off the day I attended. That was only one day. Patriots.com radio has also mentioned some of his throws being off.

rapport who has been at the practice has said hes been off and on... mainly off for him... and even punted a ball yesterday... and the defense has been winning more than the offense

Maybe that'sa sign of how good the defense looks

Defenses always seem to start faster than offenses anyhow. Perhaps now that they are settling into a more normal season-priented rhythm, he'll hit his stride. I'm not worried about Brady.

I read the thread title as "TBC." I was really confused.

He's still no Eli Manning.

Why would anyone be surprised of Brady? It's like saying "Oh man, God looks superbly omnipotent today"

Good heavens! You've seen Bono?????

Actually, from what I've heard, he hasn't been very sharp at all. Whatever, not concerned about Brady in the least, but Tom Curran goes a little too far on the ass-kissing scale for my tastes.

I find it amazing to watch the multiplier effect of how the media and the internet react with one another. Tom Curran has one relatively inconsequential line in a puff preview about an upcoming preseason game - here's the original column - a small portion of which is picked up by one website, and suddenly it's being repeated by hundreds of other sites. The unfortunate part of all this is the original piece is opinion, but all those other sites implicitly treat it as fact - while conveniently washing their hands of any liability if it turns out to be incorrect because all they did was copy and paste something from another site.

I've been to around 4 camp sessions this year, so far, and Brady didn't seem any different than he has the past few years with the exception of the year he returned from his knee injury.

Hey, waddayknow...

We might have ourselves a QuarterBack.

So we all clicked on a thread that states how good Brady has looked so far in TC--only to find out that he has actually looked a lot worse than most yrs.

And so it begins....

That's what I've been reading when I read the individual reports. Everything I've read suggests that he's been quite erratic during practices early on.

The one practice I went to, Brady looked pretty sharp and in sync on any pass thrown to Branch, Welker, Hernandez. His throws to Ochocinco were a little off.

That said - Bedard includes stats for practices, and anytime he does, it seems Brady is generally completing at damn near 80%, so Curran must be seeing the same thing.

Weird little piece on training camp if you ask me. The Brady paragraph basically said that Tom E. Curran has a man-love thing for TB and thinks he ought to get more attention. Yeah, yeah, ok, we all do. More attention?!? really? The guy goes down a water slide and everybody loses it. Maybe Curran should get the NFL Network and watch all 100 profiles culminating with TB as tops of the Top 100 of 2010 - the most amazing filler since C-Span.

Who cares if Brady is hitting guys in practice. The intrigue at QB is with Hoyer and Mallett and whether Mallett is the genuine article.

The commentary on the safety position is nothing new and looked like it was lifted from the Merriweather thread. How easy are we making it for these reporters? The best coverage of TC is coming from posters on here who seem to know who to watch, unlike Tom E. Curran.

What does the last sentence of the Gronkowski paragraph mean? Don't tell him that he's good? Don't tell other teams he's good? What? Gronk is a monster. He knows it. The other teams know it. They also know that he only gets better with Price, Ocho and Branch racing around outside and the smurfs doing their thing underneath.

Somebody send Tom E. Curran the link to Mike Reiss' prediction on the roster - at least he knew where to focus his attention.

I think that the TV-radio-internet-newspaper thing has made these guys lazy and superficial. Their so busy running from one media to next with stops along the way to stick little checks in the ATM, they're not doing their jobs as reporters.
