He was the pick that Goodell gave the Jets for the camera gate faux pas.
Joe - You're right. He wasn't taken with the 16th pick, but the 12th. But to say that he wasn't taken with the pick that was part of the compensation is what is inaccurate. Otherwise, how would the Jets have gotten to #12 without the 16th pick???? And to say they could have used #18 to do so isn't accurate either because that would have required them to add something more to their trade with San Fran..
I dont buy it.
The Jets canned Cromartie after spending a 2nd round pick on him after 1 season. They were desperate for a CB. Kyle Wilson has underwhelmed. Everyone knew what the cost was for Aso's services.
So the Jets bid was the same or less than the Eagles? Really? They bid less than Dallas when Cromartie wasnt supposed to be back?
Just saw something on Rex Ryan's words on Ellis coming here. He said something like, 'he's going to the Patriots, so there is no way I am going to wish him well'. Rex is being Rex.
Regarding Revis vs Ochocinco...
Come on guys. I know we hate the Jets, but Revis is going to get the better of whoever our #1 receiver is. He wins against everybody, including guys way better than 85 has ever been. And that's fine. We'll just win every other match-up on the field.
I'm OK with that. Why not?
Why can't more Jets fans be like you? It's going to be weird watching the Jets and not seeing Ellis there on the line. He was the rock of our D-line for more than a decade. He was a GREAT Jet.
I'm kind of at a loss for words, so I'll just say that I wish him all the success in the world (except when he's playing the Jets), and that if the Pats win the Super Bowl, while most of me will be pissed, a small part will be happy that Ellis finally won a ring.
I won't wish him good luck, but I do wish him good health.

Will he be in the same ward as the Jets' wide receivers?Book the nursing home quick ... These guy are older than Elvis.
To be fair, he did follow up that quote with something like 'I hope he stays healthy, but I don't want him to do well against us.' I can see how people may construe that original quote to mean something other than its intended purpose.

I'm sure glad with Shaun Ellis at 6'5" 295 LBS and Mike Wright coming back from injury at 6'4" 295 LBS, we can augment the big guys on the line with some tiny players.
Just curoius but what guys are you talking about that are 'way better than 85 has ever been'?Regarding Revis vs Ochocinco...
