Oh, BTW . . . as of right now:

SEA 6-7 and playing ATL right now
STL 6-8
SF 5-9
ARI 4-10

If SEA loses:
(1) ARI might actually still be able to win the division.
(2) The winner of the division is guaranteed to finish no better than 8-8 . . . and host a playoff game.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the worst division in all of sports, the NFC West!

And unless Seattle wins by 69 points, all 4 teams have been outscored.

The division has 21 total victories, and 9 of them were against each other. Assuming Seattle loses, they'll be 12-26 against the rest of the NFL.

It's not that he's a fool, as much as he's shameless. His whole persona, the entire image of his team is based upon false bravado. He's wagering that continuing to be bombastic is better than to eat humble pie. It will probably blow up in his face, because his act is getting old. It's not entertaining any more, the rest of the fanbases are getting pretty sick of it also. Most of all, he no longer has the on field performance to back up all that hot air.
