What's changed since Week 2?

The biggest change, in my opinion, will be that Brady will be expecting those coverage looks that the Jets gave him in Week 2.

Jets will be coming at him with something very different this time. Rex Ryan might be a loudmouth showboat, but he is a defensive genius. He does know what he is doing.

Neither is Irvin Kershner.

Do you remember Revis being out for the entire second half as well. How about no Calvin pace, Trevor Pryce, or Santonio Holmes.
How about this stat. The 2010 New England Patriots are 0-2 agains the Ryan brother's defenses. 14 points in each.

*chuckle* I love when Jets fans use eachother's materials as if that, somehow, makes it important.

The First time the Pats played the Jets was week 2.

Welker wasn't 100%.
Moss had already said he wanted out.
Logan Mankins was holding out.
Gerard Warren was playing in just his 2nd game as a Patriot.
Devin McCourtey was playing in just his 2nd game in the NFL.
Brandon Meriweather wasn't starting.
Jermaine Cunningham and Brandon Spikes were also starting in just their 2nd games. As were Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski.
BJGE was in his 2nd game as "THE MAN" at RB.
Woodhead hadn't suited up yet for the Pats.

So, while the Jets were without Holmes, Pace and Trevor Pryce, there were plenty of things affecting the Patriots as well.

The Cleveland game was a bad game all around for the Patriots. Their practices that week had been garbage. They all said so. From Belichick to Brady and many of the player in between. And that has as much or possibly more to do with them losing as the "Ryan Defense."

Both teams are 9-2. The competition the Pats have faced has been tougher than what the Jets have faced since the Pats faced the Steelers and Colts. And the Pats put up 39 points on the Steelers when they were the best team in the league in terms of Points allowed.

In the 9 games since the Pats lost to the Jets, the Pats are averaging over 31 points a game scored while allowing just under 24 points against against. The Jets haven't faced an offense that prolific all season. It will be interesting, to say the least.

what else has changed?

in the 4 games without holmes, the jets had 1 turnover, in the 7 he's been there, they have had 12.

the jets running game is not what it was earlier in the season.....tomlinson is a tale of 2 seasons.....the 1st 5 games, he averaged 5.6, 6.9, 4.7, 7.0, 4.7......in the last 6 games, he has averaged 3.4, 3.4, 3.2, 3.7, 3.0, 3.8...greene has also tailed off.....neither has had a TD in 5 or 6 weeks

the right side of the jets OL is hurting now, too

kudos to the jets making unconventional plays to beat their most recent opponents.......but teams who count on broken plays to make the difference eventually go down....the broncos started 6-0 last year.

versus cincy, needed 2 broken plays by smith to pull the game out.

versus houston, needed typical houston ineptness to pull that game out. houston was up 1 and had a 1st down on the jets 10 with less than 2 minutes. LOL

versus cleve, had to go to OT against a rookie 3rd string QB

versus the lions, had to go to OT......not impressive

versus the packers......not even a point

versus the broncos, same as the lions.....

I know.....you'll argue that's how the pats used to win games.....but not really, the pats did not succeed by having their own ineptness outdone.

the jets just aren't that good........well, neither are the pats, but at this point, I will take their consistency on offense over anything else either team has to offer

and oh yeah......the jets have gotten older. not that it will have that much of an impact on the game monday, but this is it.....this is their moment of opportunity

their roster is aged in some critical places (DL, LB, RB, OL on the right side)....they have been very lucky in regards to injury with their defensive front 7.....losing jenkins for a 2nd straight year hurts, but they had a good backup. Tomlinson is starting to show his age again, moore and woody are beat up.
