So, we lost to the Browns. And we looked horrible doing it.

Every good team has a rough game or two every season. No one goes 16-0 (well, one team did!)!

Sit back, if you will, and consider the following:

1. We are 6-2 at the halfway point. If someone offered you that deal BEFORE the season started, you wuold have taken it, right?

2. We have 8 games left, and need to go 5-3, 6-2 to finish where we want to be. Five of those games are vs. AFC opponents. 3 of them, against probable AFC Playoffs teams.

3. Forget the Browns. That's history. It would have been nice to be 7-1, but we're not, so let's move on.

4. Let's break down the rest of the year:

Sun 11/14/2010 8:20 PM @ Steelers
I think we lose this game, but I think we play MUCH better than we did in Cleveland. Let's say, 24-20, Steelers. (6-3)

Sun 11/21/2010 4:15 PM vs Colts
We win this one. I still think we match up well with the Colts. Just hoping we don't pick up any key injuries vs. Pitt. Pats 38, Colts 24. (7-3)

Thu 11/25/2010 12:30 PM @ Lions
This game will be closer than most folks think, but the Pats will beat the Lions. Pats 27, Lions 17. (8-3)

Mon 12/6/2010 8:30 PM vs Jets
Oh yeah, the revenge game. Pats 31, Jets 10. (9-3)

Sun 12/12/2010 1:00 PM @ Bears
The Bears are on a slide. Belichick will find a way to rattle Chicken Cutler. Pats 28, Bears 13. (10-3)

Sun 12/19/2010 8:20 PM vs Packers
At home against the Packers, I like our chances, but I think we could lose this one because Aaron Rodgers is that good. Packers 24, Pats 17. (10-4)

Sun 12/26/2010 1:00 PM @ Bills
Come on, are you kidding me? Ben Jarvus = 130 yards and 2 TDs. Pats 41, Bills 6. (11-4)

Sun 1/2/2011 1:00 PM vs Dolphins
Fishies no likey coldie. Pats 24, Dolphins 13. (12-4).

So there you go.

Relax.

An optimistic 11-5.

My only disagreement is the game with the colts. I don't see how we "match up well" against Manning's no huddle.

I love your optimism however, I would switch your win against the Colts with your loss against the Steelers.

It think the Pats matchup against the Steelers better than they do the Colts. The Steelers O-line is a mess and the Pats actually have a better chance of getting pressure on Roethlisberger than Manning (party due to Mannings quick release). I believe the Pats run D will not be as bad this coming week and will be able to shut down (relatively speaking) Mendenhall. I fear Manning more than Roethlisberger with regards to our secondary.

The Pats O-line is not doing that great right now and always have trouble with speed rushers (Freeny, Mathis). The Steelers have better linebackers than the Colts but I think quick screens and dump offs can neutralize the Pittsburgh pass rush.

The Colts can be run on but we really don't have a RB that can exploit that weakness consistently enough to counteract their quick strike scoring when Manning is on the field.

The Pats were effective against the Colts when the defense knew their assignments enough to execute them with disguises. The Pats D now is too young and inexperienced to be able to do this and can be had with Mannings shenanigans (or won't be able to adjust as fast as Manning does).

Pats beat Steelers and lose to Indy, otherwise I generally agree. If they don't beat the Steelers I feel that it could be detrimental to the psyche of this young team.

you win loss predictions maybe close but iam interested to see right how we are going to score 34/41 points and stop teams with 6/10/13 points.

An optimistic 11-5.

My only disagreement is the game with the colts. I don't see how we "match up well" against Manning's no huddle.

One area that the Pats have improved upon is conditioning, from what I can see. The youth on the defense probably has a lot to do with it, but for as much time as they have spent on the field this year, I think the conditioning has been better.

However, the real difference is that while the Pats' running game is nothing to write home about, the Colts have a very porous run defense. The Pats have had some success against weak run defenses. I wouldn't be surprised to see some healthy doses of Woodhead to blunt the upfield rushes from Freeney and Mathis.

I see back to back losses coming up.Watching the steelers pass rush maded me think that our OL will have their work cut out.I dont know how much great out defense and offense can play. You cant have your offense not be sharp to start these games.

Hey lets divide the fanbase some more. Great thread!

This is a really nice thread..........

Don't remind me since it's meaningless without a Super Bowl victory!

This one will be a nail biter: Pats 13, Jets 10 or Pats 12, Jets 9. Either way this one will be low scoring.

Wait isn't Armen the biggest chicken little.

Cleared out? This is their favorite time of the season! Coming off a loss.

They usually leave when the Patriots are coming off a win.

Dude... You can't make fun of the 'chicken littles' and then predict a loss against the Steelers. So your saying that the loss vs the Browns is the beginning of a losing streak? I just want to take the season one game at a time and I expect a win every Sunday. If the Pats happen to lose then they need to see where they went wrong and move on.

You don't get it. We objective folks watch games to be entertained and SUnday did not entertain us at all. Therefore, until the Patriots can prove to us they can win the superbowl, we are boycotting them.

Just kidding. Of course we'll watch. But we'll complain and fuss.

Seriously, anyone who followed the Patriots prior to 2001 has seen plenty of bad football. It is actually easier on me to see them suck in every phase of the game than to come up just short.

If we beat the Stillers and Colts, then it will be a good two out of three. And if we lose to those two, then a win at the Browns isn't much consolation.

If that makes any sense.

I like where the Pats are at...better to lose and be 6-2 and have to refocus than to get blindsided by Steelers and Colts......

Time to just "Do your job" and play better. Set the edge...tackle...focus...no fumbles....and BRADY, please quit thinking about that wife and kid and think about where you're THROWING the ball....hit the numbers, not the knees.

To be fair, I think there's a good chance the Pats will lose to the Steelers (but I think they'll play well in the process), and I feel I have to stick to my preseason predictions. I'm definitely no chicken little. Hell, I'm sure most people thought I was a hopeless homer when I picked the Pats to go 11-5 before the season started.

Well, I picked them to go 8-8 before the season, so I'm ecstatic with 6-2.

All they need is for the 3 stooges defense,
(Merriweather,Wilhite,Sanders,Arrington, whoever, take your pick) to figure out how to get off the field on 3rd down, and they could finish 9-7.

I agree a win against Pittsburgh or Indy makes the hurt go away.
