Encouragements:

1. I think Arrington is improving. I think he might end up being a good NFL corner.
2. And McCourty is going to be a star.
3. Woodwead Wow is an exciting football player and much better than I would have dreamed. I'm especially impressed with his pass protection. Just a very tough, very good player.
3. Hernandez is already very, very good.
4. Gronkowski has a chance to develop into a very good player.
5. Cunningham could be a budding star.
6. Brandon Deaderick.
7. Vollmer is turning into a great player.
8. Ron Brace looks like he could end up being a good player after all.
9. Pryor.
10. Dane Fletcher, I really like this kid.

Concerns:

1. Chung injury.
2. Koppen, Neal, and Matt Light.
3. Tully Banta-Cain is not good, he sucks.
4. Guyton is not good, he sucks.
5. Gostkowski injury.
6. Our OC is atrocious.
7. Why is Sammy Morris on this football team if you are not going to play him?
8. Our shortyardage running game is awful.
9. Our 3rd down defense is atrocious.
10. Meriweather looks like he has taken a step backwards as a player.
11. Brandon Tate looks like a bust.
12. Edelmen- injured?
13. Welker is definetely not 100%.
14. What is so great about Alge Crumpler. I don't see it.

I will not go into my many disagreements with your analysis. You stated my position best when discussing Crumpler. You "just don't see" what is so great in Crumpler. So it is with much of your analysis. Crumpler is great as a blocking TE (his role) and a leader on the field and in the locker room. How great is he. Belichick made him one of the team captains when Faulk went down. The reality is that "you just don't see" the value of Crumpler or in lots of other valuable role players.

I agree. He has been posting things tonight, but not having any support for what he is saying. I agree with you Crumpler has been a very good addition to the team. I think Crumpler knew his role going into the year, and that was to teach Gronk and Hernandez how to play TE in the NFL. He has been a very good leader and a great presence in the locker room. Just because he isnt putting up stats, doesnt mean he isnt important

You might not be aware of this, but most teams employ a strategy best summarized as 'hire a tight ends coach'. It's a revolutionary concept where you don't have to actually waste a roster spot on an over the hill stiff that can't play anymore, but you still get to teach the rookies how to the play the game anyway.

Don't feel badly. You're not then only fan that doesn't understand the value of a solid blocking tight end. You also are probably not even the only poster who can't remember waaaay back to Crumpler's fine play against Minny.

How is Tate a bust? He is coming off of two major injuries and getting into a rhythm. He has made an enormous impact in three games:

-Kickoff return against Cincy blew open the game
-Kickoff return against Miami blew open the game
-65 yard TD reception against Minnesota changed the game

He isn't Randy Moss. He's a third-round pick with some big-play capability, and he hasn't really had a lot of time to develop as a route-running receiver. I don't see Bethel Johnson or Chad Jackson here; I see a pretty good player who is still raw and improving. Based on your expectations, you'd think the Patriots picked this guy over Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson. If they could take him again in the third round, they should do it.

Problem is, Crumpler isn't that great of a blocker anymore. Is he better than Gronkowski right now? No, he isn't.

Speaking for myself, I'm not ready to give up on Tate just yet, but I'm concerned that he may be a bust. This far, he has been very inconsistent at the wide receiver position. He's been great as the kick returner spot.

Dan Graham was not the best catching TE ever but he was a great blocking TE

If Graham had been in to block for Brady in SB 42 I think we win that game

Now, I'm sure that you didn't see the Minny game. And yes, Crumpler is a better blocker than Grankowski. But then, I'm sure you think that you know more than dante and bill regarding player evaluation, especially of the value of blockers.

Problem is, Crumpler isn't that great of a blocker anymore. Is he better than Gronkowski right now? No, he isn't.

Ok, I didn't realize that you were a Jets fan trolling until this post. My mistake.

They barely even play the guy. Considering coaches usually play the guys that they think are the best players, I think it's safe to say that Dante and I are on the same page on this one.

I'm a Jets fan because I want to use Crumpler's waste of a roster spot on someone that can help this team?
I like Gronkowski and Hernandez, btw.

Damn it BB! you stupid idiot overrated coach, you didnt know about a TE position coach and wasted a roster spot on it ?

Crumpler is a very good blocking TE, and Gronk looked great out there today, especially on that holding penalty.

You are a moron...

Crumpler has actually contributed this season. Just because the stats dont show it, doesnt mean it isnt happening. As other have said he did a very good job blocking in the 4th quarter when the Pats started to run the ball

You're making troll posts that have nothing in common with reality. Either you're a fan of another team trying to stir the pot, or you're just demonstrating a complete lack of understanding about the game of football.

In either case, you're a perfect example of why this site should think about making a minimum post requirement for starting threads, and maybe even for a need to be voted permission to do so.

Brandon Tate, is the best KR in the NFL right now and a nice #3 WR im not sure why u think he is a bust ? Welker, is being double teamed by real CB's not the LB's and safety's that was covering him when Moss, was here so he is not going to get open,

Buddy you are the one defending the worst offensive coordinator in the game, not me. The guy is so bad that BB wouldn't even give him the title of OC.

Bolded. I've never been a fan of his, and his play is just making me SMH now.
