Article: Moss Viking stories leaking out...

Regardless if the story is true or not, the fact of the matter is for the last 6 months he's continued to spiral out of control.
he fired his long time agent.
he has a long, crazy press conference.
he doesn't show 100% effort.
he fights with a coach.
he gets traded.

I'm surprised no one has worked in a "dog-faker" reference. We're taking ourselves too seriously methinks.

So long as we're into seat of the pants psychology about stories that may or may not be true, do any of the amature shrinks here want to take a stab at why this board is so infatuated with Randy Moss?

I liked what he said after the game on Sunday, because it made me feel good about my team. Other than that, I don't care about Randy Moss. He's not a Patriot. If he becomes one, I'll care about him again.

I can understand the speculating about whether he'd come back to the team or what will happen on the waiver wire or whether he'll go to a rival. That all seems fine. The other stuff? Noise.

Maybe they served Kansas City style BBQ and Moss is used to Carolina style. People down south take their BBQ seriously.

You can insult someone in the south and they'll brush it off, but tell them the BBQ is better somewhere else, and they are quick to get offended. Tennessee thinks BBQ is a pork shoulder. Come on!

Asking someone to prove a negative? If someone makes the accusation, the burden of proof lies with the accuser.

I can't prove either way so why keep asking? I'll always be grateful for Randy's contributions here, especially in 07. Whatever BB's reasons were for letting him go, call me crazy but I'll trust his judgement over anyone's, especially the posters here no offense

What Childress did is another story. And Silver? You're more than welcome to search my posts regarding the media lol.

Texas has real good BBQ. You just have to hit the right spots.

That's what I mean. I can't find decent BBQ anywhere else now. They know how to do it in TX.

Go to Rudy's in Austin, TX. Best BBQ for the $$$ in TX.

Details of sub-par barbecues and haircut feuds aside, we DO know this:

In the space of a month, two different teams have cut loose an immensely talented wide receiver who still commands double-teams every moment he's on the field. There has to be a reason.

I honestly can't BELIEVE people think this simply didn't happen. I appreciate (and hold) a healthy skepticism for journalists, but it seems the height of head-in-the-sand thinking to claim Silver (and multiple Vikings players) are MAKING THIS UP. Ridiculous.

As a huuuuuuge and long-time Moss apologist, even I can't get past this. That is a HORRIBLE story and I don't doubt for a second that it's true.

You can find great authentic BBQ all over the north. Boston has it (Red Bones), Providence (Wes's), New York City (Blue Smoke), and heck, even Syracuse and Rochester have it (Dinosaur). These places rank with any of the places down south.

I think the fascination with THIS particular topic has to do with the fact (for me anyway) that what I (and others here) knew before (BB was right to make this decision) has now become starkly evident to everyone else. Now BB is a master con-artist. 4 weeks ago he had given up on the season. It's crazy times.

Vikings Player Says Randy Moss 'Deserved to Be Cut' Because He Didn't Like Food in Locker Room - NFL - NESN.com

When I first read the article I had to re-read it, looking for a link to the Onion. Then I saw Silver's name and just thought the shark has now officially jumped the boat.

But let's just say the story is true. Why not sit down privately with Randy and in a calm tone let him know he is looked up to by other players and therefore they need him to be more positive, etc. In other words on one hand feed his ego and build his confidence by telling him how important he is, while at the same time subtlely letting him know how they want him to act, and what is not acceptable behavior. It's something parents do with children and supervisors do with employees daily. How does Childress, the boss with a degree in psychology, apparently not even consider this type of approach - and just throw his hands up in the air and give up, cutting Moss instead?

You're looking at it too simplistically. We know that it's not the reason the Vikings cut Moss, so what possible relevance can the article have other than for the organization to save face at Moss's expense? The answer: none. Don't take things at face value (of course if that happened this board would vanish into nothingness).

VikingsNow is also confirming silver's story

Have gotten confirmation that @RealMikeSilver report is dead on - Moss did berate caterers on Friday

There's definitely a "good Randy" - -the great teammate who loves football and being around great players and sharing his wisdom with willing younger players. Then there's the "bad Randy" -- post-Bengals PC, Sunday's (extremely articulate) soliloqy, the bit with the food and the way he reportedly acted at a big Patriots corporate event. It's really too bad about the "bad Randy."

And where was Favre in all this:singing: Somehow I have the impression that Lord Pervaquad's ALWAYS had a say in everything (GB as well as Minn) I definitely could be wrong but you have to kinda wonder if Childress would've made this move without consulting Favre at all. I know Chill reportedly didn't consult with the FO but that doesn't necessarily mean he didn't get Lord Favre's blessing? Hmm:singing:

Oh, yikes.

But that is still not the only reason he was cut. No way.

This is what I find so unbelievable. It is patently obvious that Moss was cut because of that press conference, combined with the fact that Randy's on-the-field production could not whitewash the negative effects of his words Sunday night. Now, Silver comes out with a story that Moss was acting like an evil gnome with some caterers, and the Vikings are all too quick to confirm it. Well, that settles it. The presser and Randy's production had nothing to do with it. He was obviously cut because he yelled at a few caterers. Chilly had no choice. All is well in the Metrodome!

Lemmings...some people are just lemmings

I might actually buy the idea that Chilly did this to try and send a message to Favre. I doubt Favre was consulted, but who knows. That is definitely a circus over there. All the Pats fans who think BB and the Krafts suck should go be Vikings fans for a season. Maybe they'll feel like Randy did two nights ago.

Some of you guys mentioned the Kraft Sponsors event and Moss's actions... what's that about?
