I am mostly worried about AP and if we cant stop him we are screwed but what if Farve looks like he is going to have a great game...are you nervous about Harvin and Moss running all over the field on us like all WR's have this year?

Stopping the run is the first thing.Getting pressure on Favre is the second if he plays.I am more worried about our offense.

Significantly less nervous than I have been with other matchups this season.

A lot of that has to do with coaching and the gaping disparity at QB.

I am not the least bit nervous about them running all over the field. As long as they don't catch the ball, they can run around all they want.

in terms of talent this must be the best offense they have faced so far. AP and harvin worry me as much as moss.
On defense, we dont have a big play threat anymore and jared allen vs light +willamsses vs connoly and koppen. who knows how it will go.

lot of causes for concern so iam nervous

Without Rice, the Vikings offense isn't as formidable as it otherwise would have been.

The unit I'm most worried about is our offense.

Me too. If Brady's blindside starts collapsing then they are in big trouble in this one imo.

The unit I most worried about is the 12th man. Reports are they often quit before the end of the game and don't give it their all on critical defensive 3rd downs. To make matters worse a significant number of the members of this unit are reportedly planning to cheer for an opposing player during introductions with many wearing this particular opposing players jersey.

That's the unit that concerns me the most. The other three will come ready to play.

Bingo! This is the only thing that concerns me. The problem against the Chargers last week was protection. Hopefully they are better prepared for the Vikings DL on Sunday.

didnt jared allen beat light up when pats wents to KC a few yrs ago ?

I've watched just about all the Viking games this year-- their D is great on paper but Jared Allen has been getting manhandled by everyone he's faced thus far, and their linebackers seem to overpursue on EVERYTHING. They're getting very little pressure on the QB (though Ray Edwards is a BEAST, Vollmer will have his hands full there) and their 2 starting CB's are out. If the pass protection holds up, Brady will pick them apart.

The Vikes OL has been a sieve-- Favre's been getting killed out there. Much of that is his own gunslinger mentality (holding on to the ball to long to try and make a play, etc) but honestly his line hasn't given him much time out there. No doubt about it-- Moss' presence has done for Harvin there what it did for Welker here, and AP has largely carried the offense to the point.

They're the more talented team on paper but can't hold a candle to us as far as disciplined football. Game plan to keep AP to minimum yards, make Favre try to beat us on 3rd and long, get sacks & int's!

Pats 31, Vikes 20

So much attention is given to Farve and Moss this weekend. I really thing AP is going to have a awesome game. He's probably going to get the ball 30+ times considering they have no QB. Mayo should have another big game too.

Favre having a great game?

Are you serious?

If he plays 3 INT's will be a good day for him.

I will preface my comment by saying the Patriots can not take the Vikings lightly. However I am of the opinion that the Vikings are NOT an impressive team right now.

All but a couple of teams have extremely talented, quick and fast skill position players.
Its not about how athletic the opponent is, except for a couple of slug teams every offense in the NFL athletes that you cant cover given the offense friendly rules.
Its about playing a complete game on defense, getting into situations where the advantage to the offense isn't as pronounced, and having a defense that consistently carries out its assignments.
Whereever Peterson runs there are 2 Patriotsa assigned to that gap. Whatever pattern Harvin runs there is a defender assigned that coverage.
The key to defense is everyone doing their assignment, not individual players guarding a guy like its basketball.
In this game, we will be facing a below average QB, either one prone to make mistakes and unable to move around or one who is subpar in most all QB skills. That makes the 'weapons' less of a concern than most teams we will face.

Favre is not that great at sliding around in the pocket like Brady does. He's more likely to try to run away from pursuit, which could be disastrous for him because of the bad wheel. I look for him to make our pass rush look the best it's looked all season. And a few of those times, he'll try to make an off-balance throw just before getting pummelled, leading to an int or 2 and being knocked out of the game before the 4th qtr. I'll be surprised if we don't see TJ at some point. As LB said before his shootout with DW, Sundays gonna be a big win for the Patriots.

The only man in the WR corps that I am scared of is Harvin. He's now the 'Wes Welker' of that offense and he's explosive. His numbers continue to trend upward since the acquisition of Moss.

This is going to be a very difficult game for the Patriots. A very dangerous game. The Vikings are loaded on both sides of the ball. If the offense struggles like it did in San Diego there is no way they win this game.
