Hernandez drops

Any thoughts? Should we be worried, or is it something that is easy to remedy? Seems to me in both drops he was thinking ahead rather than focusing on establishing possession. Is this something that can be coached out of him in the next week in practice, or should we be worried?

My first response was chicken little-esque, thinking he can't handle the big pressure situations. My more considered thought is that he is an amazing player for a rookie, and BB and crew will make sure he focuses on establishing possession first.

I'm betting there's more to this than we know. You can tell that him and Brady aren't on the same page. I think he's lost a step. Probably isn't getting along with the coaching staff. My guess is we ship him off to Denver for a 5th.

I have no problem with the first one. Stuff happens.

The second one was 50-50 Knoblauchian. That one concerned me and I hope he can get that out of his head. Hopefully he was just blinded by the sun, because he looked like the guy in the Howard Stern movie who kept getting hit with the frisbee in the head.

I do have to say though, this thread a perfect example of the double standards set for defensive players compared to offensive players.

Prior to this game thought I saw something where his catch-to-target ratio was something like 90%. So no, not too worried. Just bad drops in a bad spot.

I'll repeat what everyone else said: He is not just a rookie, but he is literally the YOUNGEST PLAYER IN THE NFL.

Let that one sink in a bit.

I can live with a few rookie mistakes like occasionally taking his eyes off the ball. The kid has a future, but of course there will be occasional bumps along the way.

He's had some great runs after the catch. Now he has to slow down and secure the ball first. Easy to get hyped up when you have a good start as a pro, I'm not worried.

He's a rookie. This is exactly what we should expect.

You don't think catching a ball thrown too low, on your knees, with Ray Lewis about 2 yards behind you is a tough catch?


It should have been caught, but it was a poorly thrown ball.

I was more worried about the fact he was laughing after he dropped the first one. I thought maybe he was trying to play it off, they show him on the sideline...still laughing:bricks:

After the 2nd drop the look on his face made me feel better, he knew Brady was gonna let him hear it.

I couldn't be less worried. He'll be fine. And if I'm San Diego, I triple-team him on play ONE from scrimmage because they'll go right to him next week, from Jump Street.
