This is from a guy from Patriot scout.
Someone also asked Rappaport on twitter if he's heard anyrhing and he said he's hearing lots of rumors.

If we gave up a 4th for Branch, I'm shuddering to think of what we would give up for a better receiver. Let the insane Vincent Jackson rumors gain new life!

Ha, never a dull moment around here, huh?

I like our receiver/TE group as is.

Mankins for VJAX? I am puzzled why the Pats would risk spending the money though. Only other guy I can think of is Steve Smith. I really don't believe anything more is gonna happen on the WR front.

I suppose Lee Evans is not a realistic possibility?

As currently constituted, our offense is capable of winning a SB.

As currently constituted, our defense is getting there, but needs some more experience and bit more talent.

Unless we get a run stopping DT, another OLB and another cover guy, we're not quite there yet.

However, as currently constituted I do think this team is a playoff contender.

What the hell, there is no room for another WR.

They were short a receiver before the Moss trade, and Branch just brings it back to one short. Right now, an injury to a receiver means Slater or Price would have to step in as WR3.

1. Not in division he isn't.
2. He makes 9M per year. Really think Kraft will sign off on that?
3. Pats are pretty tight with their draft picks. I think a 4th for Branch is likely the most they will expend this season for that position. (Oh they did take Price in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft as well.)

I think we need more WRs. What do you guys thinks? Probably at least 2 more. Maybe 3.

Seriously, the hell?

OK, ok. You do make sense.

But I think I'd rather have someone like him over Steve Smith.

run stopping DT... meet Mr. Vince Wilfork.
another OLB... sounds good but who and can they adjust to a 3-4 two gap D?
another cover guy... easier said then done. But hopefully Bodden recovers in time for the late season/playoff run.

"Full recovery after rotator cuff surgery often takes 4 to 6 months and in some cases longer. The critical factors that determine the length of the recovery are the size of the rotator cuff tear, the ability to adequately repair the tendons, and the commitment to rehabilitation."

Ok maybe he won't make it back in time. Anyways let's bring in that new WR. LOL. Wonder who it could be?? Hard to believe this is true at the moment.

I'm coming around on Lee Evans as a hard nosed player who could help us. But I don't see us getting him with the factors mentioned above. The price will likely be too high. Both in salary and picks.

I'm more interested in the Mankins rumblings. Cannot believe the Cowboys, Bears and two or three other teams haven't been begging the Pats for a chance at contacting Mankins and striking a deal...

I figure that a contending team which allows 9 sacks in one half and had two QBs knocked out of the game ought to be a bit desperate. A 2012 first rounder ought to do it....

When you're on IR, you can't come back at all during the season...Bodden is on IR...

Anyway that the vikings might release Bernard Berrian?
