Looking at the Miami game, I would say that this offense has morphed again away from that type of offense and back to the long, sustained, grinding drive that chews up clock and breaks the will of the opponent. Like in previous times. It is prolly to be expected, to assist the young D. In Miami Moss was targeted ONCE. His role was that of decoy and blocker, primarily. This style is better suited with the recieving corps we have now. I am not quite sure, but Tate has just a little speed and a tiny deep threat himself. If opponents actually start to disrespect that because its not Moss or pick your fave here, Brady will punish them with Tate. As long as they respect it, Brady will have favorable coverage underneath. Its a win with this team.
Moss being in the situation he was, and the position and attitude that all in his position seem to have, required attention by Tom. Guys like him need 10 targets or more a game to keep them contented to protect their pocketbooks. Thats a very large percentage of the offense, and forces a team to change alignments and playcalling. I never liked it when someone like that could dictate to the coaches.
