Its all about now!!!I could care less about the damn future! You have a hall of fame QB and u wanna try and get that ring.

Were you the only person on this board who was so certain we were going to the SB with this D?

So the plan is to win the Super Bowl not this year, but sometime in the next few years. Now that makes sense.

No, the plan is to contend for the superbowl every year.

You can have the best team to ever play the game, and you're still not guaranteed a superbowl win (see 2007). You're much better off contending every year, and hoping things go your way a couple times (see 2001-2006)

Yeah u gonna contend with a rebuilding job with a young nucleus when u keep adding pieces in the draft? You just messed up your best part of ur team by trading Moss!

We are a more dominant team now, last I checked football wasn't played on paper.

So? Whether the Patriots are going to contend this year has nothign to do with their offense.

its all on how quickly the D comes around.

yeah, the offense will be worse, but in the long run, the extra play time for Tate and Price is a very good thing.

A dominant team?how? With Welker and Tate?Hernandez? You think the defenses are scared of this? This team is thinking about a future,Maybe 3 years from now.How u know Brady will still be effective then?I expect teams to blitz more.

They threw away the season!Thats wat they did!

Excellent, now every defense we face can cheat their safeties into the box to collapse the ground game, draw plays and the TE seams, beautiful !

Plus, now, we can really watch Welker get blown up................Beautiful !

In BB I trust

So having a third-round pick, who may or may not be with the team for more than a season or two, is more beneficial than having Moss for the remainder of this year and possibly a few more if we re-sign him. How does that help us contend?

If that's truly how you feel, at least you'll be saving 3 or 4 hours a week by not having to watch the games. You could also save countless hours by not reading or posting here.

Like the trade or don't like the trade, but the season is no where near done. I'm torn on the trade myself, but even the part of me that doesn't like it feels this team can win without Randy Moss.

king says there is another minor thing in play here and he doesnt know waht it is but the pats may get some more out of this depending on moss production or something else

Perhaps the Vikes agreed not to franchise Moss if they don't win it all this year, so he is free to resign with the Pats for reduced money, while the Vikes rebuild?

Moss pleaded for the Pats to keep him. It explains the quixotic speech after the Bengals game. It was a plea to Belichick. Belichick had said he couldn't afford him at the money Moss wanted, when the CAP returns.

Comments?

Bottom line is they didn't have to trade him, they could have maximized his production in a contract year then let him walk and get the 3rd anyway.

Prepare for 6-10

Wrong.

As pointed out many times on this board today, a 10 yr + vet can only bring in a 5th comp.

The Vikings are now scary even with Favre being 40 years old. They have a great running game and now they added Moss. They already have a solid defense.

Hey silician,i havea right to my opinion.I dont drink the Kool-Aid like u.I will still watch painfully.

I highly doubt this.

A 5th, a 3rd, what difference does it make. Who give a F.......

The man shouldn't have been traded who cares about the stupid damn FA compensation, it's useless to this damn football team right NOW.

We have just made the Jets season with the idiotic move..............

When Bill needed a larger number of players he traded down. But he has traded up before, for Graham and Light. Now with the team almost rebuilt, maybe a #3 could be combined with one of his #1s or #2s to move up for an impact player at a key position.

Week 2, Brady threw at Moss 10 times, completing 2 to him and 2 to the Jets. The Jets were thrilled to have Brady forcing the ball to Moss. That won't happen anymore.

Moss is not utilize because we have a stinking awful OC!
