This guy was cut by the Bears because they are looking for a better pass rush and Mark is having a tough start to this year....Mark has near 20 sacks in his 4 1/2 years playing in the 4-3 defense

Anyone see this guy play?

Would he possibly be a thought as an OLB in our 3/4?,Some Bears fans in one of thier forums think he is more suitable for it from what I read after he got cut today.

The guy did have a monster rookie season with 12 sacks,I wonder if he is done.

Having 3 bros that are Bears fans Ive seen my fair share of games. Not sure what is wrong with him but I doubt hes done for, he is still a young player. From what I read earlier it sounds like he leads the Bears in QB hurries. Not sure how he would transition to 34 OLB but in terms of pass rushing out of the 43 end position, he is worth the look and consideration.

Holy SHEEYOT!!!

* This guy is 6.4/255, the PERFECT size for a Flanker in the 3/4!!

* In the 2006 Combines, he racked a 42" Vertical, Best in ALL the Land, and a CRITICAL measure of Explosiveness, along with the Short Shuttle!!

* His Short Shuttle was 4.24, tied for 4th best!!

This is a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY!! :rocker:

PLEASE bring him in, Coach Bill!! PLEASE!!

I remember an OLB from the Bears that did pretty well here as a pass rusher....I miss Rosey Colvin,he almost made it easier to deal with McGinest gone

He's not a vested veteran and therefore needs to clear waivers or at least get to us. Don't hold your breath...

Edit: so apparently my source for that took it back. He is a vested veteran and can be brought in. Go for it, Bill!

Talent Board - Round 2
First of all, Mark is not an OLB in a 3-4 defense. He is a pure DE in a 4-3 defense. The only reason anyone is suggesting that he might be an OLB in a 3-4 is because of his weight. I don’t care how well he times out or how well he does the LB’s drills, his mentality on the field is as a DE. It would take him way too long to learn what is needed of him as an OLB and that would make his length till impact longer.

he was cut because the Bears organization, from the owner to the water boy, is inept. He would provide depth if anything else. I say take a shot at him.

if a player has the will and physical attributes, dont say what he can or cannot be or have or have not a mentality of

that is a horrible assessment, u cant simply measure a guys will/mentality by film/combine

From what i read... It was his run stopping that did him in.

Reminds me of a quote that Urban Meyer said to the same effect, about how talent evaluators who evaluate guys based on what they *have done* vs. what they have the *skills to do* need to get out of the NFL because they're not doing their jobs, essentially.

Beautifully put.

This guy leads the Team in QB hurries and that includes Peppers!!!!!!!!! Why isn't he on the way to Foxboro? Did every one in the F.O. leave for vacation for a few days after Miami? 42" vertical. 6.1 40 speed, superb short shuttle. No compensation needed.

Reminds me of McGinnest in size 6; 4" and 255 lbs. F.O....wake up. He is only 27

Apparently they are too busy making a deal to get rid of our best deep threat.

Wait a minute. Aren't you the guy who wanted us to trade for Adam Carriker?

Yep,
He is not playing too badly is he JB? He has more tackles than any one of our D lineman .....opps! Yes, he would have been a very decent add. (Ironically Brace has the most of all D lineman on the Pats but not as many as AC...go figure) Ready for this JB? AC has more tackles than the very rich Julius Peppers.
One for D.W.

Oh yeah Jack,......Bring up if you recall that I thought Maroney was not the great player you were determined to insist he was. Remember? I still have the scorch marks but they are healing, thank you. "They will never trade him!" (paraphrase)
Did you not predict him to start in 2011?
Two for D.W.

What about your amigo James Sanders? Is he not playing the worst in his career than he ever has this year? Do you disagree Jack?
Three?......

If they trade Moss, there is something that goes above our pay grade. To Trade perhaps our second best player on the 2010 Team who really has been a positive until now, there had to be a melt down of Armageddon type proportions between he and the Team these last few weeks.

Then to trade him to the Vikes..... and BB and Chilly won't go to any church socials together?........ Seems wrong.

Finally who is going to replace him? He is drawing double coverage on at least 75% of the pass plays. All you out there that are smarter than I am ....tell me who? Edleman? Taylor Price.....? Please! It might have been different going into this year if the F.O. wasn't asleep. We absolutely defecated the adult sleeping area on the Bolden deal. That was just plain no excuse stupid, and I will say it to any Pat F.O. mucky muck to his face.

Why is the media trying to run Moss out of town? That is what I really want to know. If I hear that Patten and Brown or Givens and Branch were better than Welker and Moss by those knuckleheads, I will scream.

Tell me how TB is going to feel about this? Will this make his day?

Will the Pats be a better Team? The answer is obvious ...NO

It is Bob Krafts' job as owner to put the best Team on the field for the fans. This Team without Moss is not that at all. Fail there Cousin Robert.

There is only one possible other scenario. A three way trade with the Chargers for Vincent Jackson? Moss and Jackson at the same $ would not work. There was some scuttlebutt of the Pats having interest. That would be too logical. In the end if this is true, it is probably one of those Patriot favorite fourth rounders in 2011 and a pick pending in 2012 trades.....great, just great guys!

A Hall of Fame receiver who still has time for a third or forth rounder. Way to go F.O.! Why are you trying to make this Team worse? I could see the Milloy thing. They were cornered and Milloy would not help. Moss will still play at a high level in 2010 here or elsewhere.

Did they forget Mankins? You know.....The guy who crapped on Robert Kraft. You should be trying to deal that imbecile, not one of the top Patriot players in our lifetime.

Schaffer reporting he will sign with Texans!

Schaffer reporting he will sign with Texans!

Too bad.

I had wanted Bill to use one of his 2 4th-rounders on Anderson during the 2006 draft. He could have waited until even his 5th-rounder, which was used instead to pick Ryan O'Callahan.

Anderson's combine screamed DE-OLB conversion: 6'4/255, with the 40/vert./broad/shuttle/10-yd #s needed for such a project. He was a consensus top-100 player who would've provided exc. value early on Day 2.

We could've used him then, and we still could use someone like him now.
