what is the other RB from alabams's expected draft ranking? he looked great week one

I think Richardson might be the better back, although Ingram's damn good himself. I don't like drafting a RB in the first round, and I would think BB might be hesitant after Maroney. If Ryan Williams comes out and is there with one of the seconds though, I'd run that draft card up there. As an added bonus, he's sharing carries this year to keep the mileage down.

Derrick Locke from Kentucky...He's another little guy, but getting a talent like this in the 4th or 5th round would be excellent value. Pretty impressive with nice moves great vision, and quality speed. I think I've found my new RB binky.

Do we need or even want a franchise RB? First off, we have other needs that I think are a much higher priority, OL and DL come to mind, so why do we want to spend our early picks on a franchise back when we can significantly improve our run game by beefing up the line?

* Next, a franchise RB will cost a lot more money than the RBBC approach.

* If we can simply plug in 3-5rd backs and have the machine continue to work than why pick a back in the first round?

Beautifull!!

Roy Helu Jr.

Reminds me of a cross between BJGE and Sammy Morris. Not a blazer, but a tough, competent runner. The more I watch him play, the more I like his chances of catching on in a scheme like ours. Good guy, too.

We should draft 2 Running Backs in the draft.

Maroney was a bust. Morris could never stay healthy in his entire time here. Taylor can't stay healthy. Faulk just had a possible career ending injury. At his age is it worth coming back? If anything he has 1 year left.

Then we got BJGE and Woodhead, two Undrafted scraps that we picked up.

Now especially with the NFL expanding to 18 game regular seasons, and the possible loss of Randy Moss, we'll need to have more depth at RB.

Yup, yup and, furthermore, yup.

It is called lets get a pass rusher

OLB DE???

Ingram is really good, but we have more pressing needs. RB/ Ingram is not a huge priority especially if it necessitates a round 1 pick to acquire him.

I like Daniel Thomas. A LOT.

With the nascent evolution of LE Ron Brace and LG ~ RG?? ~ Dan Connelly, the potential Trajectory of Flanker Cunningham and End Deaderick, and my suspicion that the unspeakable Logan Mankins scene will actually eventually resolve itself amicably ~ of all things...I become increasingly open to the notion that we WILL have less to address in The Top 64, next year...and that we might, indeed, consider a Running Back...

And Helu has some appeal.

Hey, I'm not saying give up on RBBC. Just saying here's a great chance to upgrade the level of talent, and inject some youth. Rookie contracts are generally very affordable, after the first few picks. It's only once they hit UFA that things get really pricey.

Honestly, I think BJGE is a legit starting RB if that's what we want. He's good for 25 carries and 125 yards in most any game. if we feed him. So, in drafting Ingram it would be to upgrade what we have today, not switch from our current team approach. Talk about a luxury pick!!

Our OL and DL are actually not all that bad off. Connolly has been the best surprise of the season, so far, and Vollmer has overachieved for a young player. Brace seems to be progressing very well, and TWarren will be back next year. What are we hoping an early pick will do for us on the lines? We're looking pretty okay. Even if Mankins doesn't resolve and Neal retires, I feel pretty good we can backfill without spending a 1st rounder at the position.

I agree with you, and if Ingram were to fall into the early 2nd round I'd LOVE to pick him up.

If we can sufficiently upgrade where we need to and we have the picks available then I'm all for upgrading the RBBC, I like Allen Bradford and Da'rel Scott and think they could be gotten relatively cheaply.

As for Mankins, I want him traded ASAP, if he won't play then I want value for him...enough value to make drafting Ingram possible

I want Ingram. He can run it, catch it and moves the pile.

Something we lack.

We're a passing team. Find a RB who can pick up the blitz and catch when needed later on. Use the first rounders on the front 7 of the defense.

And it's been a while since we've won a Superbowl, and when we did win we had Corey Dillon and Antowain Smith reliably moving the chains.

My Binkie, DeMarco Murray, picked up another 100+ yard game and a couple more TD's bringing his stats so far this year to:

551 yards rushing

10 TD's

160 yards rec. (20 catches)

Not bad for 5 games work.
