Your lack of objective observations regarding the Patriots is hilarious. I'm glad we won, but I know our defense sucked today.

I don't even want to try to think how you feel we played today. It's always Sunny in la la land.

If the stuff you write is "objective," I'm more than happy to be considered a homer. Maybe you should try it; you might not be so miserable all the time.

If you guys want to see a bad defense, look at the Redskins. A week after allowing two 140+ yard receivers, they just gave up a 90+ yard touchdown to DANIEL FELLS.

You can't seriously think this is even a decent defense...

Don't get me wrong. Of course it's bad.

But I'm not going to freak out about it, because this is more or less what I expected. Sometimes bad teams play well and sometimes good teams play poorly. This defense is not very good at the moment but it appears to have some upside. That's all I can really take away from today.

Yeah, that's pretty much my perspective, too. I expected a close game (although I expected it to be a whole lot more low-scoring), so this outcome doesn't really throw me off at all. Games like this, you just take the win and move on.

If Buffalo didn't suck, that game could have been completely different, with Buffalo opening up a nice lead in the first half. On the other hand, Buffalo didn't get it done, similar to the Patriots missing out on points in the first half last week.

About the only thing we learned today is that the offense probably won't be able to get by with just being "good" against the better teams on the schedule. Unless the defense improves dramatically, there could be games where the offense needs to score every single time it gets the ball.

just like the colts of the last decade...thats how they won most of their games because of the pressure manning puts on teams

Offense looked well rounded but they didn't seem to play with a ton of fire or enthusiasm. Although that could be because I got to watch the game without sound

I can't imagine there is a worse defense in the league than the one we've managed to assemble. I seriously hope it's just growing pains of a young defense because it's pitiful to watch.

U are right on the one hand that it is "growing pains" with this defense. Another way to say it is they are young, raw, green.....and in the rebuild mode. They (Cunningham, Spikes, hopefully mayo, Chung, Merriweather) will be a VERY good defense within next 2 years.....but not this year. Look for them to get exploited frequently and will be our achilles heel again this year. Will still be watching them every step of the way this season.....just tempered my expectations....

The Bills aren't the worst team in the league. Do you watch any non-Patriots games? They'd be competitive in the NFC West.

Either way, you might as well get used to games like this, because the Pats will be playing a lot of them.

The Bills, along with the Rams and Panthers are probably going to be the worst teams in the league. We can make a side bet on it if you'd like.

I understand your logic. "Hey, they played pretty well against the Pats. And the Pats are the bestest, so they MUST be good."

I would think he'd agree it is below average - at this point. The argument would be between those who think it is below average and those who believe it is well below average.

Can Ian make a huge banner on the top of every page with the words "The Bills offense scored 23 points and only 7 in the second half"?

Because I think some people need to get that through their heads.

When did catching overthrows become some form of amazing play?

Did I say that? Moreover, only interceptions on well-thrown balls now qualify as "plays"?

Good to know.

Kontra....anyone who thinks that this is a GOOD defense.....is a true rose colored glass wearing homer.......Be realistic my friends.....We have a terrible D this year....

What's your point? Does that take away from the fact they dropped 30?

and you're wrong, they didn't have 23 at halftime.

I don't know what games you've been watching, but Buffalo will probably be in contention for the title of "NFL's worst team".

No, it sucks, but there are people claiming that it's the worst in the league, which it clearly isn't

i felt that alot of the struggles on defense today was myron pryors fault. he was complete garbage at stopping the run and fitzpatricks runs came when pryor was easily pushed back.

This. The D will improve as the season goes along--the question is, how quickly?
So far they have just looked shellshocked.

You're trying to counter arguments that you think are foolish by being even more foolish. You're usually better than that.

You know that it doesn't take a 'playmaker' to make an interception when the ball's overthrown and all but handed to the defender.
