The Jets suck (merged)

Sanchez is looking really sharp in his second preseason game. 50% Completion, for 12 yards almost being picked off twice.

Haha. That first quarter was a lot of fun to watch as a Patriots fan.

Side note the Dolphins don't look too hot tonight either.

Tonight's performance is basically what I have been reading about his performance in camp. He completes about 50% of his passes. You take out his play against back ups on Monday night (where he went 8 for 8), and he hasn't really been too spectacular against either starting defenses he faced.

It is too early to tell anything, but all this talk about the vast improvement of Sanchez seems to be Rex Ryan speak (which means that he uses hyperbole to the nth degree). I still haven't seen anything from the Jets that scares me this season. Their defense looks to be great again and their offense could be worse than last year because the running game and o-line might not be as good. Again, all this could change when the seasons starts.

I can't really bust on Sanchise over an exhibition game, but that's not exactly the sort of performance that will get the toes tingling for Jets fans.

jets board is having meltdowns already .. imagine the reg season ...lol

Just watch. The Pats are going wax the NJ Frauds week 2.

NJ will make some plays on D, no doubt, but they wont be able to keep this NE team out of the EZ. "The Sanchez" will likely fumble and throw a pick or two towards NEs cause.

i wouldnt put much stock in preseason ...lets see when the games start...both the jets/pats.

This is the wrong thread for a post like that. They SUCKED last night. We're just telling it like it is. :singing::singing::singing::singing:

I watched the 1st half...

THe Panthers offense and STs are nothing but horrificly bad
D'B Fergie nearly gets the Sanchise killed missing a block.
Later Justin 'All World" Keller nearly gets The Sanchize decapitated (EDIT: I'm told it was TE Hartsock)
The Sanchize's 1st pass is a pick deep in his own territory if the Panthiz D had hands
Sanchez goes 5 for 10 but for a total of 13 yards
Both times on 3rd and twenty something, Sanchez racks up completions by tossing 5 yd passes that failed to get 1st down
A long bomb where Sanchez overthrows by > 5 yds is deemed "brilliant" by the announcers
Both of the Jets' 1st 2 FGs were the result of muffed punt receptions by Carolina with no Jet causing the misques. JETS failed to advance and kicked FGs.
LT made the only decent run, a 20 yd scamper thru a huge hole, otherwise Jets 1st team couldn't run

This vaunted JETS team looks pathetic except for the D which has yet to be tested

I can confirm that Jets do indeed suck (tribute to a fallen high school buddy)
Senior year in high school – there was a kid in senior lounge that would tell tall tales (or so we believed) every day.

Like when:

1. He was doing 160 in his uncles Lamborghini driving east on I90 when a cop in a souped-up Mustang Cobra police super car – pulled up beside him and pulled him over. After deciding not to smoke the cop in a drag race he decides to pull over. Even though he was doing 160 – he talks his way into just receiving a ticket.

2. How he disarmed a would be armed robber on his family’s trip to NYC.

3. How he could bench press x amount of weight. We called him on this one and made a sizable wager that he could not perform one complete bench press at this weight. He accepted – we went down to the weight room and after shakily getting the bar off of the weight bench he realized that he would not be able to naturally complete the bench. Instead of giving up he decides to bounce the bar and weights off of his chest to gain some needed momentum – he let the weight fall in a virtual free fall and broke his sternum…

4. He bedded 3 college nursing students after his car broke down and they picked him up in an already cramped 2 seat Corvette. He claimed that 2 were model material but he had to make a small sacrifice for the third.

5. How he made hundreds of thousands and soon to be millions on insider trading info from his fathers contacts on the street.

There were many more but you get the idea. After graduation I learned that he joined the Air Force. He died in a fashion that lived up to the high implausibility standards of his stories. While aiding a comrade in a training related accident he was sucked into one of the Jet’s engines. Yep, Jets do suck.

Long way to go for a punch line and perhaps in poor taste – but he was a Pats fan and if you knew him he would approve of this thread and this post.

You have the best first-5 posts in the history of this board. Keep it up to 7000 and you'll be in the HOF.

You know its a good game when one 20 yard run is more than a sixth of all the yards your team got!

Aren't they supposed to be good for taking out rats? What about Ratgini?

He wasn't a rat until he went there...something in the water polluted his personality and mutated him into a rat. It's doing the same with Sexy Rexy's mouth, increasing it's size six-fold so it can eat and spout out crap at the same time

Holy cow...my heart out to you for recalling this memory and hope he did indeed smile at knowing you took pride in the retelling. :rocker:

Ratgini was the guy who was rebuilding the Jets into a fairly respectable team. The true native Rats needed someone to throw to the Lions and the feeling-betrayed jetski Mobs in the Coleseum, after the Favre debacle, despite the winning record. So the long knives came out and sliced Ratgini up like Julius Ceasar, and ran him out of town.

I was intrigued with all the Jets fans visiting our boards, so I went over there to see what their opinon was of the Panthers debacle, and found this particular snippet of a gem.

The long post is one in a long thread of criticism of their OC. It reminds me of the interminal posts we used to have about Charlie Weiss back when.

Among the posts was a long post criticism of everything about their OC including the brand of toothpaste he must use. And mixed in the stuff about Shottsy their OC was this:

"...My other gripe is with Sanchez himself..... I think this kid's draft stock rose more on his star potential than his ability.... I just don't see that much there with him...

He has below average size......

His arm is average at best.....

His accuracy is too streaky.....

The only stregnth in his game that I see is his ability to throw on the run...."

This Jets fan is actually beginning to see the light. Sanchez is an overated product of the Niew Yawk media hype machine.

He really has no particular physical attributes that merit a First Round Draft pick. His arm is much poorer than Brian Hoyers, and unlike BH's, is wildly inaccurate to boot, guided as it is by a non functional as yet, QB brain. He should have listened to his college Coach, Pete Carroll, who knows the Jets and the NFL, when he said "You're not anywhere near ready".

As I said before I could sympathize and almost feel sorry for the victory-starved Jets Fans, after so many years of Pats laughing-stock treatment, but the Jets were generally even worse off, even in the Pats down years. If only they weren't such off-putting, provincial, obnoxious, know-nothing blowhards...

We all know how this denoument is going to play out. ...

I just had to throw a post up here. Listen ye, enjoy now and partake of it's greatness. This thread will go down in history as one the most legendary ever concocted on this site!

How Jets 2010 season will unfold.

Without Revis (either out or rusty), over confidence and distractions, the Jet's stumble out of the gate.
Pats put a whippin on them.
Pressure mounts in the big apple and media.
Tougher schedule and team's circling them on their schedule add to the Jets difficulties. No free win games this year either, sorry.
Sanchez's inevitable INT's begin to pile up, but this time the mid-season improving Jets defense and team just cannot overcome. More losses.
Finger pointing begins. Egos clash.
Losses mount.
Ryan's shtick backfires and becomes laughable without positive results.
Team unity dissolves.
Implosion.
:scream:

Even so, I actually can't wait to see what I consider the most overrated, highly scrutinized, fickle fandomed and emotionally combustible team I have ever seen play out this season. It's going to be a fun train wreck to watch, and then enjoy the revisionist excuses unfold. Just my .02c.

Do I get a nomination into the HOF? I started this great thread.

Nice post.

IMO, the jest have have painted themselves into a very small corner. They are going to implode on their self confidence or lack there of. It will be very entertaining to watch to see the NYC Media machine eat these frauds alive.

In the very unlikely event that they do accomplish something this year, that same media machine will praise them like they have won the last 5 super bowls in a row.

Tom Brady on D & C this morning when asked if he watches Hard Knocks:
"I hate the Jets, so I refuse to support that show." I love when he says that.

Brady is way cool. I love the way he completely bypasses his usual say nothing or well composed complementary response when it comes to the despised JESTS!
