1)"We're playing to win this game!!!!!" -Wrecks pregame

2)Jets play all their starters the ENTIRE first half

3)Jet fans have been blabbing it up nonstop in the Jets Suck thread and others that Chad Pennington Lite is EQUAL to(and just bursting at the seams to say better) than Tom Brady right now...

4)Wrecks still calling exotic 6 and even 7 man blitzes from unbalanced formations on JIM SORGI...once again JIM SORGI...well into the 3rd quarter

5) Jet fan claims Thomas Jones and his 1400 yards won't be missed because now they have La NoClassAtAll

6)La Camerawhore unashamedly mugs for the camera and then makes a string of what can only be considered space alien type comments about the world's best defense(as he sees it)

7) The Giants are a work in progress still rough on the fundamentals(12 men on the field and failing to call a T.O. on the only Jets "score"

Final score...Giants 31....green Big Mouths 16 with 40 seconds left

I knew the Jets were overrated. This game confirmed it. Preseason or not, it was a pretty bad showing overall, imo. Sanchez is the new Captain Checkdown.

Huh. Kevin O'Connell actually looks pretty sharp. I know it's against the third string, but the guy can play. I still can't figure out why he didn't work out here. What a wasted third round.

He looks sharp because half the plays in that 2 minute drill were broken plays. Apparently he's at his best scrambling about, but that eventually catches up with you, e.g., his last three plays, down by knee, intentional grounding, and illegal forward pass (nullifying the interception).

Way to go KOC.

He looks sharp because half the plays in that 2 minute drill were broken plays. Apparently he's at his best scrambling about, but that eventually catches up with you, e.g., his last three plays, down by knee, intentional grounding, and illegal forward pass (nullifying the interception).

No, the penalty was declined and the interception stood. The Green Bean QBs end up with three picks on the night.

Ok time for some honesty here. Mark Sanchez threw an horrific ball for the interception but apart from that he looked really good to me.

The Jets firsts were impressive.

Sorgi was very impressive for the Giants and Cruz well what can one say, he really looked fantastic. He has to play with the firsts though before anybody can really say how good he is and I suppose the same applies to Sorgi but he did look really, really good.

I saw a pretty good jets team in the first quarter. I'm not sure why everyone here is giddy at the final score from a preseason game. Defensively, they were good against the run and got in eli's face a few times. their coverage at times was pretty good.

sanchez does not have to be tom brady to win a super bowl. if he dinks and dunks without making too many mistakes he can win them some games.

edit: analysis above may not be accurate since the Giants looked like a mess in the first quarter.

Anyone watching Tedy on the wrap up on Sportscenter?? The Giants are a hot mess, but he's acting like the JETS won easily... It has to be some sort of spell Rex casts. He just said he thinks the JETS looked to be in week 3 preseason form they can build off of. LdT apparently proved on one carry to be the signing you dream of.

I think Heidi should take him in for a checkup.

It's sad in transition how quickly they adjust to playing to the larger audience.

I'm not certain that I share that view. It looked more to me like the Giants D was having some issues that MADE the JETS look better. There were a LOT of miscues in the 1st quarter by the Giants' D, but once they settled down the Jets had more problems moving the ball.

No, what he said is right. The Jets' firsts looked really good on both sides of the ball. I don't know what you were looking at but it certainly wasn't the same game I seen. Well as far as the Jets' firsts are concerned.

Shame on Tedy. If he was talking about the Green Beans defense, the Giants were missing starters in the O-line and had nobody at tight end. I'm actually kind of surprised they put Eli out there under those conditions, especially with Jabba Wrecks trying mightily to win the game.

Uh....did you READ Rex Ryan's comments before the game..?

Did you miss the Jet O starters playing the ENTIRE first half?

Did you NOT see that Sanchez CANNOT pass effectively to his left, the SAME problem he had last season???

Did YOU see the "hands to the face" penalty called on a Sanchez incompletion that kept that dink and dunk drive alive? I didn't see it on TV...they never replayed it and showed it...weird huh? and my cousin who lives in NY and is a lifelong Giants fan called me by cellphone and claimed the call was total phantom B.S. and blamed Walt Coleman for screwing the G-Men because he's a Pats ref...heh

I guess if your expectations for the Jets is 8-8 and building to the future then that first quarter was somewhat OK...but for all the press blithering and blathering by Ryan pregame and the expectations of a stone cold lock super bowl win for the Jets this season this was nothing but an embarrassment.

It reminds me of when Tommy Heinsohn went to work for CBS as their color man on NBA broadcasts in the '80s. He wanted so badly to avoid the Celtic homer charge, that his commentary was largely in favor of the Lakers or other Celtic opponents. I think Tedy has adopted a similar modus operandi. A while ago he was on Dale and Holley waxing poetically about the Jets and when Holley disagreed with his assessment of them, he sort of airily ignored it and continued with the love fest. I still love Tedy, but he's got a job to do and when you work for the 4-letter network, sizzle wins out over steak.

Jaws is Jaws. Every game he calls, he has a mancrush on one of the QBs. Tonight it was Sanchez. Personally, I thought Sanchez was the worst part of the Jets starting groups.
