Another Mankins thread ..... :bricks::bricks::bricks:
I would cut James Sanders and then resign Mankins. That way he'll get the money he wants and the Patriots won't take too big of a cap hit. I know we constantly hear about all of Sanders' "intangibles", but that's probably because his tangibles (i.e. his coverage and help against the run) are terrible. Simply put, giving Mankins a top 3 guard contract might not be value, but it's way better value than the contract Sanders has.
We're all glad they're committed to a more physical offense that can wear defenses down, but that's gonna be a really hard thing to accomplish if they need to mix and match at offensive line every week.

I'd start a thread on patsfans.com and see what the fans thought.
Just so you know your Poll is flawed.
and this is a Mankins thread and not a "personnel and cap management" thread cause you could have asked about the OLB postion just as easily if not easy so jsut admit you made a Mankins thread instead for trying to distract we are smarter then that.
Come on. Just because the guy is in a contract dispute doesnt mean he will intentionally get Brady hurt. Thats ridiculous.I'd do just what they're doing. Nothing. Just ignore him...if he comes back suspend him for the rest of the season. It would be just like him to ole his man and let brady get killed.
Hopefully it'll be a lesson for future players. Don't mess with the bull, boy!

He will come back when he is ready.
I have misread the team before but I dont think they will trade him.
If they do not, I would be willing to bet that Mankins is on the field for the Patriots at some point this season. My gut says it is sometime within the first 3-4 weeks of the season also, but I'm not as confident of that.
