The last time the Patriots took the field against a very similar opponent, they not only got slaughtered. They were boo'd off the field by their fans.

Literally boo'd off the field.

the insane get even more insane...you are getting destroyed trying to deflect a horrid loss to a team you say is inferior so you use another game against a different opponent as your argument in support of your obvious insane position. Next thing you'll tell us is Blair Thomas was way better than Maroney and DeBlubbergutsterson was a terrific pick as good as the Goatston humiliation.

Link?

You could provide the injury history of Ronnie Brown. But he missed an entire season as well.

You could tell me you hadn't seen enough of Greene but the truth is Bill would swap them out and not even think twice about it.

You could tell me he's better than Jackson &/or Lynch but he isn't.
Brown is an injury issue. Good if healthy, but questionable future.

Greene is only better because you hope he is. He has not proven it at all.
Maroney for example was the primary RB for the best offense in NFL history. Greene has 100 carries.

You are either ignorant or kidding if you think Fred Jackson or Marshanw Lynch who wont even be playing are better than Maroney, but please show me the numnbers or analysis that concludes that.

Something is not true because you keep saying it over and over.

Literally boo'd off the field.

Who is a similar opponent?
The last time the Patriots took the field against THE JETS they embarrassed them.
Are you asking to have another team fight your battles then take credit and call yourself similar?

Goal line carries and more opportunities to run into the back of his linemans ass as they got pushed into his gaps.

That is ridiculous.

John Clayton said tonight that this contract will make it more difficult for the Jets to deal with Revis. That David Harris is going to have a problem because he is only making 550k in the last year of his deal, but Mangold will have to wait because his 3.2 mill will have to be enough for him in his last year.

Yeah well, at least Pats fans don't wait in the parking lot and cuss out a coach when he's there with his kids. Jets fans can claim that honor.

Why are we feeding this troll again?

It's Mental Health Week...we are pitching in to help the unfortunate space alien refugees from Planet Green Moron

He's definitely well above average at being a pulling guard, but bad at just about every other part of his game. And, FO also said that he's been terrible in pass protection, and that he wasn't going to do Leinart any favors. Which brings us to the main point: Faneca was the weak link in pass protection, Ferguson had to make up for Faneca's weakness more than he was aided by his strengths. Especially considering Faneca's strength, according to FO (objectively), was blocking on the other side of the line than Ferguson. And Faneca's weakness, according to FO (objectively), was pass-blocking right next to Ferguson.

You don't even know who the QB is that he was protecting so how would you know anything else..

Considering the Jets gave up 30 and then 26 sacks, to say that Faneca was the weak link without bothering to show your proof, you are just talking out your rear end.

Not to mention that I believe that Faneca was giving more help to D'Bust in Pass protection than Jester fans want to admit. But in doing so, didn't do himself any favors and possibly missed stuff because of it.

The deal is good through the 2017 season.

Call it what you like. It's an eight year deal.

It's a 6 year extension moron. Not a brand new 8 year deal. The salaries for 2010 and 2011 weren't modified.

2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

Can you count?

Yep. I can. And I know that D'Bust was under contract through 2011. So, the EXTENSION is 6 years. NOT 8. And the 60 million is NEW money with 34.6 guaranteed. Just because he might see some of it as a bonus for signing the extension doesn't change the fact it's a 6 year extension, not a brand new 8 year deal.

How many games did he miss last season?

5?

So, because he's missed 5 games last season he's all of a sudden an injury prone broken down has been? If that is the case, then you guys are really looking at needing another RB to replace LT..

Your all star RB scored 7 TD's in 15 games and I'm the one beaten and bloody?

Jesus, who knew.

Who said he was an all-star? Only you, from what I can see. Most of us know that Maroney is a competent starting RB in this league. Unlike LT, who is a broken down has-been.

And yes, you are the one who is beaten and bloody.

The deal will work out to $9.2 mil per year over the next 8 years, that's what I heard.

Gotcha. We're all looking for competant starters to finally produce after 4 seasons in the NFL. Isn't it ironic that you won't hesitate to label Gholston a bust, even if he decided to play 'competently' this season.

Maroney has been producing since he entered the league, moron. I've not made one mention of Gholston. So, stop lying and making stuff up.

What did that 5th round pick turn in to? Decent 3rd TE? What

Considering the pick was just used this year, it's hard to say what it turned into. But it looks like a punter. How good/bad he'll be remains to be seen.

So you drafted an injury prone OT? Awesome.

One that was taken in the 5th round. He had 1st round skills and fell because of the injury issues.. Teams take late round flyers on guys like this all the time.

So he's no longer on the team? No kidding?
Again, only because of some off field issues..

Cool.

The draft was abysmal.

Only to the uneducated like yourself. People who have a brain and use them know that the draft was ok. Was it spectacular? No. But it wasn't horrid or abysmal.

Would one of those reasons involve the OL being built to cater to Philip Rivers and a featured passing attack?

As opposed to the offense Schotty Sr. ran which almost exlusively featured LT.

He still averaged 7.7 YAC but didn't receive hardly any to justify the numbers.

SD ran him out of town.

SD ran him out of town because LT was the epitome of classless. The only player who throws his teammates under the bus more than LT is Peyton Manning.

LT never average 7.7 ypc. And his O-line was pretty much the same for the last 5 years.

*ROFLMAO* So, you are comparing the 2009 Jets to the 2009 Ravens now?

You are clearly a lost cause.

he's saying 7.7 yards after catch, DaB...but then it's a useless argument anyway...compare Leon Washington's YAC to get a real idea

Looks like D Brick is getting top 5 money.

Well those are 09 figures.
New contracts always make up the top, by the time its over it wont be close to top 5.
The danger is they gave him a RECORD guaranteed money with no clue what next years cap will be. On top of that, the Jets have a lot of their better players with expiring contracts. Perhaps it will work out, but I don't understand the logic of extending a player and bumping up his cap numnber when he has 2 years left on his contract, and you don't know what cap level it will fall under.
On top of the fact its a lot of money for an average LT.

DE: Gholston - Completely undersized, was moved because he busted at OLB
NT: Pouha - Played very well filling in for Jenkins
OLB: Taylor - 35 years old, not good option on early downs
or Westermann - Undrafted in 2009, played 105 snaps
ILB: Cummings - Undrafted in 2009, no defense game experience
or Laury - Entering 5th year, played 1 defensive snap last season
CB: Wilson - 1st round rookie
/ Lowery - 3rd year player, played 566 defensive snaps last season
S: Smith - 5th year, played 424 snaps
/ Ihedigbo (Dig) - 50 regular season snaps, very few in coverage
/ Lowery

DE: Mike Wright - 9 starts, 587 snaps, 5 sacks
NT: Ron Brace - 55 snaps, was not pretty
OLB: Jermaine Cunningham - 2nd round rookie
or Rob Ninkovich - 5th round pick in 2006, 127 snaps last season
ILB: Gary Guyton - 844 snaps last season
or Tyrone McKenzie - 3rd round pick in 2009, spent all of season on IR
CB: Devin McCourty - 1st round draft pick
S: Brandon McGowan - 11 starts last season, 720 snaps
or James Sanders - 5 starts last season, 51 career starts

Summary:
Jets have 2nd year undrafted players with very little experience as primary backups, along with one high 2010 pick, a huge bust, a 35 year old, a surprisingly good fill-in last season, and a player with plenty of starting experience that may need to switch positions to see the field now.
The Patriots have a combination of players with starting experience in the past, along with 4 top-3 round picks over the last two drafts.

Basically, Patriots have high picks with no experience, Jets have undrafted players with no experience.

You didnt do the offense, and the Jets depth is even worse there.
