AFCE contract news: D'Bust signs D'extension

I'm happy because next to Revis and Sanchez, Ferguson is the most essential player to the Jets' success. He keeps Sanchez upright for the next 7 years. Great signing.

He looked terrible before Faneca came along, he's looked like an average LT since. The Jets just grossly overpayed for him. Fine by me, though. Mangold is the best on that O-Line. If overpaying Ferguson means that he's out the door then I'm okay with it.

Mangold says Hi!

And why 7 years? In the 8th, will DF miss a block, and MS get hammered?

Hi Mangold.

Unfortunately for you, D'Brickashaw is more important to the team as he is an elite left tackle. As you know, elite left tackles are much more important than elite centers. And obviously, Sanchez's jersey needs to be kept clean. This signing ensures that.

7 years because he has one year remaining on his current deal and obviously he just signed a 6 year extension.

First if the future of your franchise is Sanchez and Ferguson, your future will closely resemble your past.
Second, simply because the LT position is most often the blocker of the other teams best pass rusher does not make a decision to pay top dollar to a medicore one a good thing.

Terrible is a stretch. He was very young and developing. The 2007 team had terrible left guards all season, and was overall one of the worst lines in the league. Obviously Faneca has helped him develop. But if you think he's average, than I don't know what you're watching.

Faneca has been the much worse player over the last 2 seasons. I think you're overrating him just because he's "Alan Faneca." The guy hasn't played at that high a level in recent years.

I'll trust Mike Tannenbaum's judgment over yours.

Yes...

And why won't the Jest re-sign him? Not good enough?

Way to go out on a limb prediction wise...

So basically, you're saying that it was merely coincidence that both your running game and Ferguson VASTLY improved once Faneca joined?

not sure why any pats fans are laughing.

Wouldn't it be nice if they now had to let Mangold walk...right into taking over koppen's job? Go out on a limb and optimistically say we get somethin hammered out with Mank for my oline wet dream for a minute here folks. that would make for an Oline of Light/Mankins/Mangold/playertobenamedlater/Seabass Sweet baby jesus! Any one of us would look like an all pro playing behind that line, while utterly obliterated may i add.

I lol'd .

MikeTannenbaums judgment has gotten you a long run of mediocrity.
Apparently that makes you happy.

Faneca is still a good run blocker, but a terrible pass blocker. Ferguson is average to good in the run game, but excellent in pass protection. I really don't know how else to put it. Fact is, he has started every game since his rookie year and has gotten better every season. He has been the starting LT on one of the consensus best OLs in the league [unless you're AndyJohnson and won't accept that the Jets' line is one of the better ones in the league]. I trust Jets' management in their decision.

How does this affect Mankins' future deal? They don't play the same position. Jahri Evans' deal is more like it.

Since he's been here, this team has been one of the best drafting teams, and has built arguably one of the league's most talented rosters. I'd say he's a good GM.

Mangold, Revis, and Harris are not going anywhere.

notice how "best!!!" just rolls off the Rat fan's tongue so easily?

the same "BEST!!!" for the last 40 plus years...

Logan Lee Mankins (born March 10, 1982 in Catheys Valley, California) is an American football guard

D'Brickashaw Montgomery Ferguson (born December 10, 1983 in Freeport, New York), is an American football left tackle

I see a difference...

"All Jets picks are the BEST!!!!"..*cough*..Goatston..*hack*...*cough*
