It was more along the lines of he shanks it in "pressure situations" and "when it really counts".

Time will tell.

So there's absolutely no chance he can improve from how he was in college?

Where did I say that? I only wanted to share what I was told by someone who was much more familiar with the player then most of us.

I thought that was what we did here, share opinions and information?

Although early reports had Mesko being very inconsistent (was trying to remove that extra step), all recent reports are of him really booming the ball. Can anyone confirm whether he is doing this without the extra step? If so, this kid is very coachable, and will probably be a pretty special player. I think he may redefine the punter postion.

I don't know about an extra step but I'm excited about him! Good news he's signed, if/when whatever kinks he has get ironed out he could be something special, I agree with your last statement. BB loves his punters :rocker:

PFW in Progress were talking about this last week, and I am sure they said that Mesko was punting in the 'new' style that he is being coached, so for him to still be booming some at this point is very good.

That is excellent news, thanks for the info. This kid is definitely coachable. From what I have read, he really wasn't coached on mechanics in college. Considering how coachable he now appears, it'll be interesting to see what he will accomplish with quality NFL coaching.

It's nice to actually have a pretty good punter, finally. Haven't had a good punter in years, not one that typically had the words "booming kicks" at least.
