I might have picked Odrick or Wilson as I have said for a couple of weeks. But as we ahve discussed, the value in the bottom of the 1st was NOT at OLB.

There are 14 picks to go and the 8 passrushers listed below. We will get one, even if we need to move up. We might add Dunlop and Griffen to this list which makes 10 passrushers,

I will agree completely, IF they don't pick one soon. But nobody's off the board yet!

Hughes
Kindle
Dunlap
Sapp
Misi
Wootton
Lane
Te'O-Nesheim

So, for any of the non babies out there...Obviously didn't want Odrick, at least at that spot. I read there were a number of similar DEs, and we need a pass rushing OLB.

Does BB think there's a lot of similar players he can scoop in round two and save some dough? Probably don't want another pile of money lined up next to Wilfork.

I trust BB's judgment on D, except for the trying to play without linebackers part.

hard to wrap your brains around this so lets sse what happens tommorow
i expect pats to convert 1 of the 2nd rounder to a first rounder next yr and move back further.

Marshall is dumber than Emmitt... that's saying something.

I think corner WAS a need. Teams live in the nickel today, and DBs are fragile. Wilhite is a solid #4 (which is perfectly fine for where he was drafted, no bust), and Wheatley is a totally puzzling disappointment. Springs is as good as gone. Plug in a genuine quality 3rd corner with Bodden and Butler and you have the kind of powerhouse unit you want back there.

Now consider: the top corners are all gone now. The OLB prospects are not.

I could see BB trading up in the second for a WR like Benn or G. Tate but lets remember the Chad Jackson fiasco

Please qualify this as i have no idea about this guy.
He's a play maker, CB or STs, he makes big plays while staying disciplined. People were screaming about NYJ and MIA grabbing big named receivers, and Buffalo just grabbed a speed demon KR/RB, so NE went for a stronger secondary.

They took him over Kyle Wilson which says a lot. They must really like the guy. I didn't expect to see us take a corner with our first four picks, I think Wheatley is deffo on the way out now.

If we were going to draft a special teamer, then I would have preferred Tebow.

Honestly the first thing out of the BSPN talking heads, after the dead silence and the searching through their notes to see who the hell he was, was a good special team player. I think we can all remember the wasted draft picks (because we blew another to move up to get him) on special teams demon, Slater.....

Who makes these decisions? Don't they watch the games, see the roster? How many CBs do they really need??????

They shoudl have just traded down again....

I just wish we had some picks in the 2nd round.

I know no one cares, since this apparently "crap on Devin McCourty" hour, but the scouting report from GangGreen of all places concludes:

I think this means Wheatley is officially a bust. But we'll see about this feller.

McCourty is solid all around but he doesn't have elite speed, according to scouts on CBS. Others say he's blazing. I wish I knew which it was.

Gosselin's top 100 is incredibly ON.

well ..they couldve just traded out the first round altogether. i believe they must have tried hard to do that.

BSPN said he was an outstanding ST. I don't know him at all, jussayin'. Springs is probably gone? I'm puzzled as usual by the pick but that's a BB draft lol. There's still plenty left on the table, I hope we grab us a pass rush.

Looks like Slater has some competition. Great use of a first.

And here I thought the Pats needed a playmaker on both offense and defense - but i forgot about the third phase!

BB - Always a Step Ahead

Could Marshall and Holmes roaming the NE secondary have something to do with taking McCourtey?

What? Not possible! Rabble rabble rabble!

Still need to draft on the D-Line and OLB but I had CB as a pretty big need for three reasons.

1) Fins and Jets improved their respective passing games
2) Whilhite and Wheatley are at best marginal CBs
3) Good cover guys help the pass rush

they picked a CB that could of gotten in the second round, this is unreal. All of the pass rush help they need and they pick a 5'11 corner, oh i almost forgot, we have like 6 of them already.

I agree that the pats gave alot of big plays last year, its because they couldnt get any pressure on the QB, any NFL QB can pick apart a defense if they have the world to throw it, i mean come on.

I am starting to lose all trust in BB, maybe he is not the mastermind everyone makes him out to be anymore. Hell i would of picked up Dez Bryant, If this is going to be Moss' last year, why not draft for the future. I can bet that the 3rd round pick they got wont even make the team. We need young fast linebackers, we cant wait and see how McKenzie is going to do, or see how tate is going to do, if we do that, its a wasted draft if they dont work out.

Time will tell. I don't think this kid is drafted to play CB anytime soon. Maybe dime back and blitzer. But primarily to give us a good return guy (there isn't anyone on the roster now for that role - Welker and Faulk are done with it). And to add punch to the special teams defense.
