Detriot just traded up with Minny, they are going to take Best, so there goes that wish

We used a first round pick for at best a nickel CB and kick returner, no way to make this sound positive. Sad thing is that he may have been available next round with all our picks.

So when do the pats start trying to unload wheatley and whiltite for a bucket of balls? This is absolutely ridiculous!!!! The Pats have wasted pick after pick after pick on 5'8" corners.....

So for those of you that are counting 2 safties, in rounds 1 & 2, then 4 CBs in rounds 1,2,3, 2.

All still without any pass rush

Can I get a bucket of balls for McCourty also? Sam Aiken look over your should, we just drafted another Special teams gunner............LOL.

I'm fine with BB passing on Bryant even though I love him. Must mean Bryant won't be running tight routes in the NFL.

Odrick was maybe not going to sink in his stance enough to pay 2-gap in a 3-4.

Kindle has an effort problem and Hughes may not fit.

OK, got it.

But, CB? Really? We're expending lots of resources on this position.

I would have traded up for Pouncey or Iupati or Derrick Morgan (all it costs is a 3rd? Why not our late 2nd and get a 4th back?) or even taken D. Thomas at #22 (unless he can't run a route either).

Nothing against McCourty. I stated before the draft that they should go BPA excluding the CB and QB position.

Wilhite or Springs are gone gone, bye bye

and Odrick to the Dolphins. There's a kick to the balls.

I really don't like the pick. Secondary is not our big need.

Really would've liked Odrick or Kindle.

BB could have easily traded down 4 or 5 more spots (picking up another 3rd) and still get McCourty.

Galloway, Chung etc in '09. Holt, McCourty in '10. See a pattern. Washed up wide recievers and special teams players with our top pick. Chung wasn't even that good on Special Teams last year. A total joke! Belichick is Vince Lombardi as a coach. Unfortunately, he is Vinnie Cerrato as a GM.

McCourty is a WIN! Too many unhappy people.

I think most of us are worried about the biggest hole on the defense not getting filled for a position that wasn't of dire need. Hopefully we take a look at Wooten tomorrow or try to make a move for Shawn Ellis. If not, it looks like we're putting all of our eggs in the Damione Lewis basket.

I know no one cares, since this apparently "crap on Devin McCourty" hour, but the scouting report from GangGreen of all places concludes:

Eyes....open.....new.....player. I don't know how this guy is not being talked about more. He is better in run support than Kyle Wilson, and his coverage is not far off. If he runs a quick 40 time at the combine, which will add to his special teams talent and general defensive ability, I can easily see why Kiper has us taking him at 29. Quite frankly I would like to see him wearing a Jets jersey. He is extremely active with his hands, loves the game, works his tail off in the film room as well the practise field. Seems like the kind of guy that will take on board everything that he is advised to do. Can see him coming in straight away to work on special teams and play the corner. Very impressed with him. There is so much talent at the bottom of the first, top of the second this year, especially at positions we need. On one hand that is great for us, on another, It's not going to be an easy decision for Mike and Rex.

I think this means Wheatley is officially a bust. But we'll see about this feller.

good thing.........the pats secondary was getting old with all the 24 year olds.......

with 3 2nd round picks, they will pick at least one more DB in round 2

they will convert one of those 2nd rounders into a pick for next yr so dont hold your breath for the pats picking tommorow 4 times.

IM DONE.

Honestly I could see trading down, but what the hell do they need with another corner?? They keep draftin the same guy First it was Wheatley, the WHilite, then Butler, when will this end???

Still no DE, NO OLB, absolutely no pass rush, they are going to need 34 CBs, because the can't get to the QB.

Man you seem to have nailed it

I'm going on the record as being stumped. I have no idea what to make of this other than the breaking news that Springs will not be returning this fall.

As I sit here all I can think is WTF. But .. the National Football Post has McCourty ranked just behind Wilson and Haden, and I seem to remember a few posts from people who would have been happy with Wilson.

Unfortunately, he wasn't even the BPA at his position. That would be the guy the Jets got.

So much rage over the CB pick. Let's wait to see him play before we say how much he sucks.

We still have a lot of picks with a lot of the players that have been mentioned still on the board. Have some patience.

Nope,We are trading all 4 second rounders down for 10 4th rounders

I think corner WAS a need. Teams live in the nickel today, and DBs are fragile. Wilhite is a solid #4 (which is perfectly fine for where he was drafted, no bust), and Wheatley is a totally puzzling disappointment. Springs is as good as gone. Plug in a genuine quality 3rd corner with Bodden and Butler and you have the kind of powerhouse unit you want back there.

Now consider: the top corners are all gone now. The OLB prospects are not.
