Re: More intrigue in Pittsburgh: Leftwich gets an extension

Leftwich was pissed at Jax for giving Garrard the starting job and he is like Garcia who wants to be a starter badly

This extension puts Roethlisberger closer to the out door of the Steelers locker room.

The plot thickens opcorn:

Definitely sounds like Ben's on his way out, the question is where's he going...

Well, one way to speculate about this would be to say

Pitt trades Roethlisberger to top team.
Pitt drafts Clausen/other QB
Leftwich/Batch/Dixon compete for right to start while rookie develops over next two seasons.

Hell, that would be a perfect scenario for..........................

Tim Tebow

The Rams have announced that they are not going to do an early signing with Bradford as has been done with #1s the past few years

I still think the Rams trade #1 for Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh drafts Bradford to learn from Leftwich

The Rams fans are desperate for a winner after being one of the worst teams the past 3 years and they would take Big Ben and accept his criminal past knowing he would probably make thier team at least a few wins better once he gets into the fold.

Ohgodnooo! Tebow seems too nice of a guy But you're probably right.

Re: More intrigue in Pittsburgh: Leftwich gets an extension

With an uncertain future this probably was the best move beacuse he can either backup Dixon or start. The Steelers know he can get the job done when called upon which is why I thought they didn't want to loose him to free agency last year but Leftwich wanted a bigger gig with starting opportunities hence Tampa. I think the Steelers will be in play good RB prospect in the draft to compliment Mendenhall because they will have a more conservative (traditional) offensive approach this season.

Best scenario is that Ben and Tebow end up on the same team. That way they could hang out together. The 21st Century Odd Couple - I'd pay money to see that ...
