Yeah but like alamo said, has Parcells *ever* picked up Parcells' trash?

Curtis Martin, Ray Lucas, Otis Smith, Dave Meggett, Corwin Brown, Tom Tupa...Patriots to the Jets brought into both by Parcells.

Yeah, but so far that's only 13 players. alamo's right.

Maybe...I only did the Patriots to Jets players and the members of the '01 Patriots in my lists, could me more to them than that.

Aiken, Slater and Stanback i'd rather have out there as Receivers than Ginn.

They may not get open as quick, but Slater has had one pass thrown at him in games and he caught it. Thanks to an OL penalty it meant nothing, but it was a bullet pass and he caught it firmly.

Aiken catches most that go to him. He just has crap reception numbers and inflated yards from his 2 big catches.

Stanback done a bit at Dallas and has other roles to play.

Ginn can get himself open deep or coming across the field. He'll also drop 2 out of 3 balls. And if there is a sure way to piss Tom off, it's getting him another WR that can't catch. Yes, i'm looking at you Galloway, Caldwell etc.

And no, I don't want any of the 3 above being any more than 4th WR before I get sarcastic results. And when Wes is back, Aiken can be the 5th.

We need a WR, but we don't need Ginn.

I really hope that none of those three see any time at the WR position in 2010. Not a big fan of Ginn either.

I'd take him for his return abilities and how dangerous he is on a double reverse alone. As a receiver, I guess I would take him over Sam Aiken but that's not saying much....

I wanted Ginn coming out of college he is much like Devin Hester get the ball in his hands and he can go all the way at any point it's just a case of getting him the ball he would help take coverage away from randy because he is fast enough to get deep even if he only catches 1in3 that 1 will be big. Or hit him on a screen however he is not worth a high draft pick.

Ginn has all the physical tools except for a set of testicles. At the WR position, especially on this team, that is a big deal.

Here's the issue. I would assume that the Pats would have to offer a much higher pick than someone else for Parcell's to trade him to us.

If Parcells was to trade him to us for a 5th or 6th, that in itself would concern me. 25 year old WR with no off-field issues to a division rival for that low a pick? That would be a HUGE red flag to me. I wouldn't expect him to be much help if that's all it took to get him away from the Dolphins.

Anything higher than that, I don't think it'd be worth it.

So no, I don't think it would be a good move for us.

How much is he due to be paid this year? With Santonio going for a 5th, Ginn is worth a 6th or a 7th. I know Santonio has big character concerns but there is no way Ginn is worth the same round of pick as him.

If we can get him for a 6th or 7th then why not give him a shot? Maybe he can be a returner/4th reciever for us. If he can't or isn't worth the roster spot then cut him, no big loss.

I remember when Aqua4Ever was constantly abused over the Dolphins drafting Ginn and was teased about what a failure he was...now that Ted jr. is available and we need some help, all of a sudden he is noteworthy?

Ginn is Jackson. Jackson is Ginn. Let's not and say we didn't.

...and what are the chances Tuna would trade him within the division? Zero?

:confused2:

I wonder if he can be gotten for less than a top 10 pick, though....

I thought people would see the part about "top 10 pick" and get the sarcasm. I must have worded it poorly, sorry.

good luck with that.

In fairness, criticizing the Dolphins for using the #9 pick in the draft for what they've gotten in return from him isn't the same as thinking he could contribute to our team with only costing a late round pick.

However, as I said earlier in the thread, he'd either cost too much to get him away from Parcells, or IMO not be worth it if Parcells would be willing to give him to us for a 6th or 7th rounder.

I think Otis Smith and Roman Phifer were also a Parcells leftovers.
I think Otis was a free agent and Phifer a cap casualty (which probably meets the definition of leftover but not really the spirit).

But I clearly should have said "When did Belichick ever pick up Parcells' trash (who he hadn't himself already coached?)" Because I find the Jets->Patriots people in a completely different category than Dallas or Miami cuts by Parcells. Though those with better memories will probably find some of those too

I did actually assume as such, but you can't be sarcastic referring to something from three years ago without at least a little hint at context or a smiley.

A bag of footballs, a box of donuts, and a fine scotch oughta do it.

He's got talent, but there's not enough upside on the guy to go after him. Someone with his talent can be drafted and you'll have as much guarantee of success.

Since I have no idea whatsoever how (un)healthy Tate is, I'd trade a 7th or a 6th for Ginn as a KR. Does he play gunner on STs or is he truly the girly mon he appears to be as a wideout? The Tuner would never make this trade with us.
