Jarvis Green: A man that was ready to move on

Green had some solid years here and no one should ever forget his play in the 2003 title game against the Colts. This team could use a guy who can give them what Green used to.

The last two years he has been a total non-factor. He looks to me like a guy who just can't play anymore. He was ready to move on which is good because even if he wasn't the fact is he was still going to be moving on. While I think it is likely that they will regret bringing him in, I wish him luck in Denver.

That's the problem. On face value the veteran Patriots that made the Patriots what they are perceived to be have been slowly on the decline/retired/moved on and Belichick is in the middle of a massive rebuild of this team.

that would not have been the case if BB did not let the average age of a starting LB get to 36 and then have nobody to take over once the all went away......at roughly the same time

By the way, I don't see why people mind that a former Pat says something nice about his new team.

Even David Givens did that, and he was about as classy in his FA departure as it is possible to be.

I think you need to take a step back and really look into what he is saying just maybe BB's style of coaching just wears players out over a period of time. There just seems to be a lack of trust and comradery with this team and that goes to the ownership. If I was a young player on this team the reality is I already know no matter how good I play I will have to play my contract out before I get paid and even then I'm asked to take a team friendly contract. There is just no reward for being good at least with this team IMO.

so he goes to a team that, according to espn, hates their coach ? and is a bb disciple ? no, i think you're reading to much into it. it's not even about a guy getting an opportunity. it's about a guy getting paid and i don't blame him one bit.

no reward ? how many sb rings does he own ? ask marino and tomlinson if those aren't rewards.

Wait so the Patriots weren't paying their players for their first contracts? Call the press weve got a scandal bigger than spygate, "nopaygate".


No reward for playing good???well then what is the reward for playing crappy? Or maybe if they play good they will get paid better wether it be by us or another team then motivation is still there.

Aside from last year, Jarvis played well when with the Pats. This trade was a win for both teams.

This is a bizarre statement after watching this off-season unfold. It's even more bizarre in a thread about Jarvis Green, whom the Pats gave a $13M extension to knowing that he was going to be a backup player for most of that time.
