It is when everyone else is reporting the terms of the deal with Chicago already. This would hold more weight a little while ago, but everyone else is making it sound like Peppers is already wearing a Bears jersey.

How is it going on the limb when he is just relaying a quote from the agent. He didn't report anything that he didn't get in a direct quote. He is not going on the limb about anything.

It's not more than 13 million a season.

When you guarantee that much money, there is no way you can escape the salary cap hit by cutting him after 3 years. So they'll hold onto him for the length of the entire contract. They guaranteed so much, that they are forced to.

So it's $12 million a year.

And something else, since $13 million is the guarantee from the first 3 years, and that naturally means the last year drops off in salary, then the Bears are frontloading this contract to take advantage of the uncapped year.

from the business end of it, if you have a line of season ticket applicants that stretches down to RI, putting up monster bucks for a player is not a priority unless its tom brady.....the seats were going to be full whether the pats signed peppers or not
