Not looking like it ... this was from the rap sheet...

"Just heard from a pretty reliable source that Deion Branch isn’t going anywhere in Seattle."

Seems that Nate Burleson being cut makes it a lock it wont happen...

Well see, again the real season starts next Fri...

Re: For those who want Deion Branch to come back

translation we want your 4th round pick....

Re: For those who want Deion Branch to come back

Burleson was cut? I missed that one. Any wide receiver with starting experience being cut should be on this team's radar. If he qualifies as better than Sam Aiken - which Burleson does, though granted, Wes Welker on crutches right now probably also suffices - then he is worth consideration.

And before someone gives me crap - we did just sign David Patten, a 35 y/o who has been out of the league this year. Clearly, Belichick is going to honor Brady's call for more of a veteran presence on this team - and apply that to the WR position. Granted, maybe Burleson does not fit the mold, but you get my drift.

I don't understand why everyone gets excited about Branch. Don't get me wrong, I loved his game with the Patriots but the guy can't stay healthy to save his life. Since he left, he's averaged <12 games per year. I think people see him as the answer because his untimely departure more or less cost us another title.

The 'Hawks are not going to pay an underperforming WR 5mil a season.

He stays only if he takes a pay cut.

Exactly. They're wearing a good poker face right now, but you can still see the bead of sweat forming on their eyebrow.

Burleson wasn't cut, he's a UFA.

Look at our #3WR. Then Look at our #4WR.

The team's two biggest problems last year were its inability to generate pressure (period, but especially without blitzing) and the lack of an even remotely credible WR threat after Moss and Welker. Branch solves one of those problems. The fact that he left in 2005 has nothing to do with what we need on the field in 2010.

I must say, if Burleson is available, i would rather have him then Branch. He is healthier (aside from 2008), and has been more productive over the last couple of seasons...

You're joking, right? How is it a lock that Deion will be in Seattle because he is under contract with them next year?????????

I agree. He'd be worth a look. He played with Randy in MN I think. Good short to intermediate guy....

I don't care that he left, I am just saying he's not the same player he was when he left. Maybe if he can get thru the first 8-10 games and then Welker will be back...

Re: For those who want Deion Branch to come back; Rapoport says he's staying in Seatt

Nate Burleson, would be a better pick up over. branch,

burleson. had a pretty nice season. with over 800 yerd's branch. would be much cheaper to sign. if he was cut.

Re: For those who want Deion Branch to come back; Rapoport says he's staying in Seatt

Both tore their ACL's at opposite ends of 2008. So one came back in 7 months while the other had the luxury of 11 months. Drafted a year and a round apart. One on the right side of 30 and the other on the wrong side. Both fleeced the Seahawks. Eerily similar producers...in the regular season. One is a FA who once replaced Randy Moss and put up nearly Moss numbers, the other knows this system and QB and won 2 rings with him and stole Brady's 3rd MVP trophy because he shares the record for Superbowl receptions with Jerry Rice. I'd look at both of them if they were both available, but Branch would still be my first preference if his knees check out just because of his connection with TFB. Of course it would be comical if they both landed here and did really well...a real indictment on the Holmgren/Ruskell/Haselbeck era in Seattle.

Short of tagging Burleson, which would be assinine, there is nothing Seattle can do to keep him from walking away since they redid that $49M get even deal in 2007 and voided the final two seasons. But that's not to say they won't try and retain him via FA. He is from the Seattle area so he may want to remain there even if he's left to test the waters.

Sounds like a lot of back and forth over two "ugly girls in the bar at the end of the night". Yeah, you don't want to go home alone, but are you going to be satisfied in the morning with either one of these players when you wake up in the 2010 season?

To answer the question "blonde or brunette".... my answer (especially when it comes to the Pats and WRs) is "Good... cause I'll take anything".

Always go with the blonde. That's my motto.

No no, take the brunette. The odds of hearing an intelligent sentence the next morning that contains the word goodbye are much greater.

I don't care what they have to say. Besides, it's hard for them to talk with a mouthful. ;)

Deion Branch is this years Ty Law in this forum

When are some of you going to realize that Belichick RARILY takes back players he traded for or let go?

Banta Cain is a VERY rare exception against of how BB runs this team.once you are out of NE,you most likely are not coming back.
