"We didn’t come to play. We never had a chance, from the first play to the last play. We didn’t even play like it was a playoff game. More like a preseason game. We got beat up today. For them to come in here and do what they did, they could basically have been playing out there with a JV football team and they probably would have given a better effort than we did."

OK maybe Weis would have helped, and I certainly did NOT like the gameplan nor playcalling on offense today. But the fumble, was a 3 man rush and Light got schooled. The next INT was a moronic decision by Brady (after an admittedly stupid play call to roll him out). The 2nd INT was a force to Watson that went off his fingers BEFORE he got drilled.

24 point lead, and I'm sorry but Weis isn't the difference maker with the lack of talent this team had today on offense.

I disagree with your opinion on how hurt Moss is/was. I refuse to believe that there's any reason (aside from him being hurt) that they don't at least ATTEMPT to get him to make a play on a ball deep.

Gotta disagree. Bill O'Brien, or whoever the hell is calling the plays on offense needs to be fired. The playcalling all year on offense has been atrocius. They were an offense with basically no creativity. They relied on and were bailed out on many occasions by Welker. The pats have a lot of work to do this offseason.

Guess I was asking for too much.

Thanks for the thread, Andy. Of course, it didn't seem to have the intended effect. We're all geniuses on here, especially after a loss -- and if it was a BIG loss, we're all that much smarter.

Lots of interesting opinions, of course, and everybody has a right to them. It's natural we'll see each person's theory "proven right" by this game, in each person's opinion. From the disinterested Brady theory to the bad-draft-picks-for-several-years contingent, we'll be at this for several month, peaking at various points along the way... free agency, the draft, training camp.

We'll see whether there's a CBA next year. We'll see who the Pats actually do draft next year. Then we'll argue about the picks... and then the only thing that makes any difference will happen, a long long time from now... the '11 season.

That's what they mean by "lose and go home," folks. Plenty of moves in the offing, no doubt. I doubt whatever they are will make us happy; nothing does. In aggregate, we know better, consistently.

Yea I usually defend the OC around here but I think this season O'Brien failed his test.

I'm not sure you guys realize just how substantial a role Bill Belichick plays in formulating offensive gameplans and calling the plays themselves. He bears a huge responsibility and probably is involved this year more than most head coaches.

Slamming playcalling isn't totally unfair or anything, but it's pretty overdone. Playcalling is nothing compared to execution.

I guess so, especially with the way of the world, Patsfans-wise, since the run began. Used to be way far fewer of the knee-jerk armchair types around here. Now we're lousy with them. Keep the faith, AJ. We shall overcome.

While yesterdays game was devastating, the Pats will be back.. BB is too smart to let his ego interfere with all that is wrong with this team and coaching staff... suspect some wholesale changes and the 10 rookies on this squad will contribute even more next year...

With an owner like Mr.Kraft, he will not settle for complacency... now PFT is reporting that Floyd Reese may be going to Seattle... my vote is to keep him here.

It's a great thread and I agree totally...I could not stomach listening to any of the post game radio..as it is always apparent that when something likes this happens it's looked at in a rather silly manner..as if ALL of the gam,es played was like this one..as opposed to a larger picture of the whole year..and of course all these geniuses KNOW what has to be done based upon...well their MANY years of being ........
Pretty poor...and in many ways pretty non classy....sad in some ways..BUT I am glad at least some of what I have seen on here rises up to a higher level..
There are questions for sure..and I hope maybe fans will get a glimpse of it..maybe fuzzy or not direct when BB talks today...
AND NO not asking for it to be all spelled out like on radio host fraud who was pushing that line..last evening..
