The goal for the punt coverage and KO coverage teams are the same. Stop the return man and strip the ball if possible.
Its the same for the return teams: gain as much positive yardage and hang on to the ball. Maroney is running the exact same way that he does behind the OL. Scared to be hit.
((We can't say that, because we don't know that. No one can read Maroney's mind. I think it's a lack of awareness of where to cut, but I don't know.))
Maroney returned KO's for 75 yards but I dont recall anything significant about his KO's in this game. He had a nice KO return in the Buffalo game.

I had a feeling that Maroney might have signed a 5 year deal but was too lazy to look it up. Still, NE has cut its losses and taken the cap hit before when its time to move on. Today, I dont see Maroney as the future RB for this team.
((I don't either, but they won't take the cap hit until all his athleticism goes away. It just won't happen.))
