It's very, very hard for rookie receivers to make a major impact as rookies. Some are able to, but most of the time it's not until year 2 or 3 (or even later) that they really make the leap in terms of understanding the intricacies of the position. Considering that Edelman wouldn't take Galloway's place anyways, I assume you're talking about Tate, and considering that he hasn't been able to even practice yet... I'd really hope that we're not relying on him for any significant contributions this year.

I was way impressed with Kenny Britt last night. Looked incredibly polished for a rookie.

If Tate comes back in the middle of the season and shows anywhere near that kind of ability, Galloway might become an afterthought.

I have always suspected that coaches make gentlemen's agreements with each other so that if they have to waive favorites, they can keep them on practice squads.

Garrett Mills? Kory Chapman? One we wanted to keep but was signed away. One the Ravens wanted to keep but we signed.

I'm sure many players get signed away. Remember that WR Elliot who signed with the Bears 80-man roster? The Pats were so pissed he didn't get a superbowl ring even though he played in two games. And if any two coaches have a no-sign agreement it would be BB and DeAngelo.
