Sometimes the Patriots picks seem off the wall. This year most of them

appear reasonable.

Our only pick in the top 125 who wasn't in Gosselin's top 100 was Tate. Tate was off Gosselin's board for injury and character reasons. Clearly Belichick has taken a flyer, a justifiable risk, given that we had so many picks.

We didn't use a first round pick, but Rich Gosselin had Darius Butler rated as the 28th pick in the first round...
