I think the Pats are getting the sense that Eugene Munroe is slipping and the chance to move into a position to grab a stud offensive tackle is too good to pass up.

Pats trade #23, #47, and #159 to Jacksonville for #8 and select Eugene Munroe.

Smith/OT/Alabama

Vodka or Tequila, depending upon my mood.

It would likely take #124; besides 159 is not our pick (gone for Lewis). There are four stud OT's. One is likely to be there at #8 or #9. If not, Curry would be there. Jenkins is also a possibility. fine choices all

The bottom line is that if we want a stud, we should trade up for one.

BB trades up with Denver and takes Maualuga at 18.

EDIT: non Pats pick: St. Louis takes Crabtree at #2

I'm sticking with a trade up for Jenkins with New Orleans right up till the moment he goes to someone else...... Then I will throw up my hands and yell, BB'ed again!!!!

All right, I'll go out on a limb and take a shot at a wild scenario:

- Pats trade #23 and #47 to Jacksonville for #8
- Pats trade #34 and #89 to Carolina for Julius Peppers (who signs the franchise tag at the last minute and signs with the Pats for 6 years at exactly the same deal as James Harrison got)

8 - Aaron Curry, ILB
Julius Peppers, OLB
58 - William Moore, S (or Sean Smith, CB/S)
97 - James Casey, TE
124 - traded for a 2010 3rd round pick
170 - traded for a 2010 4th round pick
199 - Devin Moore, RB
207 - Brandon Walker, OT
234 - Vaughn Martin, DT

Is it going to happen? No. But it could.

You know what, im actually beginning to suspect thats EXACTLY how it will go - or a variation thereof. Maybe also Crabtree or an OT instead of Curry

As I said this time tomorrow we could be speculating just what BB will do with all his new defensive looks and saying WOW

If this were to occur I can only say; "Freakin' Wow!"

Patrick Chung at #47. Jason Williams in the third.

A Nebraska guy in round 7

Curry, Barwin, Chung.....costing 5-6 picks...followed by the Jason Taylor signing.

Maualuga falls to #23 and its the "best value" pick.

Hopefully its followed by Barwin,Gilbert and maybe Delmas in a trade up.

Then the rest of the draft on OT/OG's like TJ Lang etc....

If we stay at 23, BB pulls the defensive version of a Logan Mankins and picks:

Clint Sintim, OLB/ILB, UVA.

Trade into the top 10: Aaron Curry/Eugene Monroe

Trade into top 15: Malcolm Jenkins

Trade into Top 20: Rey Maualuga/Darius Butler

I think the pats will trade up for Everette Brown if he gets past green bay. he has the quickest first step to the quarterback. If Belichick covets any pass rusher in the draft it has to be everette brown. There are rumors that we tried to trade up to 8th overall, that is directly in front of greenbay and buffalo (both teams are rumored to be interested in brown).

9.Aaron Curry ILB
34.Louis Delmas S [i'd take Barwin here too]
58.Max Unger OG

This is my dream scenario for this draft. Therefore, no chance of this happening.

I can really see BB trading for a first rounder next year at #23, but if I had to pick I would say Sintim

Beatty at #23.
Jenkins with a trade up.
Sintim or Barwin with a trade down and out.

Vontae Davis.

Hoping for one of the top OTs to slip to within reach of a trade up, but not expecting it.

ditto

I keep thinking that Maualuga is the guy that they want. I would also love to see Michael Johnson from Georgia TEch, I just think he has the right size and speed for the Pats system.

Guyton can cover up for any 3rd and long faults that Maualuga has. I know that this draft process has brought him down a little, but watch some USC game tape and then say you would not like to see this kid sporting a flying Elivs.
