I'm very excited. I keep thinking this is going to be our 86 49ers draft, when a great team reloaded with young talent and stretched their dynasty out. I have a list of players I'd love, but I'll be happy with whoever they take, because they'll be playing for the right team. Go Pats!

Before we declare ourselves the 86 Niners...

Perspective : a few articles talk about how this is a chance - combined with last year - to make up for two mediocre drafts. BUT, didn't we get Moss & Welker in one of those ?

Also. Though I am as excited about the prospect of adding key players for 09 and beyond, I think it would be unrealistic to think it'll be the greatest haul of all-time. Hopefully it will be a very, very good draft.

I suppose I should have been a bit more articulate. I meant it would be OUR 86 Niners draft in that it restocks the system, not in that we will be adding Hall of Famers. Just a draft where a bunch of players make the team and add some youth to a dynasty. Since there are few runs of success any team has had in NFL history equivalent to the Patriots' current run, I used one of the few others (80s Niners) to make a comparison. I feel the Patriots did what I was hoping they would do, which is not trade up but work the middle rounds. I think Chung, Brace, Butler, and McKenzie all make the defense better this year. I think some of the other prospects will help this team be good for years to come.
