I'm calling it right now, we're drafting Rey Maualuga. No further insight or anything I'm just making my call.

this thread adds absolutely nothing to the forum. good job.

Draft forum material ... if you call it that

Maualuga is by far the best LB in this years draft and he will NOT get past 15 .. mark MY words

If B.J. Raji is not around by the time the Bengals pick, then Maualuga will be thiers to sign, they wont pass up on a possible and promising great LB unless a NT like Raji is still on the board.

Mark my words. If Maualuga is drafted before the Pats can draft him, they will under no circumstance draft Maualuga no matter how much his agent begs them.

Yes, I know I am really putting myself on the line on this one. I usually shy away from making such bold predictions, but I really got a real feeling that the Pats have a policy against drafting players who have already been drafted by another team. Who knows. I always said the Pats would never draft an underclassman, but I was wrong there. Maybe the Pats will surprise me and draft an already drafted player this year.

My point if it wasn't so painfully obvious is that Maualuga is predicted to be drafted much higher than the Pats will be picking and potentially much higher than they can trade up to without giving up the farm. I seriously doubt the Pats will draft him because of this.

Why are you so high on ReyMal? Fifteen is very high! Do you see ReyMal as a 3 down LBer?

Patsies won't draft malauga under any circumstances. Mark my words!!

ReyMal will be a clueless bust in the NFL. Mark my words!!

Just call it a hunch

In fact Maualuga is one of 4 guys I have on my list in this draft as to expecting them to be pro bowlers within 2 or 3 years - I think Maualuga ,with the right team can be out on the field as often as needed - As a Patriot if it did happen,I would think he would not be out there in his rookie year as much as Mayo was but on another team I think as a 3 down LB would be possible.

Just like with veteran players who get traded,it all depends on where they land and how they adapt to a new system.

Those 4 in particular who I like are

Rey Maualuga - I Just like what potential he may bring to the table, has the best shot to start over the other 1st round LBs IMO
Vontae Davis - Has the talent to become good but I think he may need a year or two to adapt to the big leagues
DJ Moore - Very versatile and looks like he can be a fine pick
Jasper Brinkley - This guy has been said to be moving up drastically, maybe as early as a upper 2nd rounder

Don't ask me to get into detail,I just think these guys are going to be good..and some of them won't get drafted till round 2

Good call.He fits the biggest need for the Patriots.

zero chance of this. zero.

Larry English, y'all. This dude's gonna be a star by year 3. I think he's a 10-sack OLB.

I dont care who they draft as long as everyone on this board is happy with the selection and there is no dissent

I thought getting pressure on the QB was our biggest need. Teams completed 44% of their 3rd downs against us. 6th worst and just a tad below Indy and Detroit who had 47%. There is no doubt our cb play could of been better, but there is no way you can hang your secondary out to dry like that if you are getting pressure on the QB. Springs and Bodden are an upgrade, but they won't be impact upgrades if we don't find a way to get after that guy with the teen digits on his jersey.

RM would be a nice signing and a future starter, but imo OLB/DE is the biggest need in 09.

I think Brinkley or McKillop fit our needs better next to Mayo as an ILB

Brinkleys my binkie so I was hoping we could snag him at #89 but looks like he'll go higher

English/Matthews/Ayers at #23 may be a good call in my book

Shouldn't this be in the draft forum?
