You do know the reporter is a blogger and a fellow board member whom I believe does this for fun and not as part of his career plans after graduating from Columbia Journalism School?

How could he have known that?

It's been mentioned once or a dozen times when he invites us to go read items he's blogged.

I must have missed it. I just didn't see any author name for the article anywhere on that link. If I did, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been a Patsfan screen name.
No biggie BOR.

No worries, I just wanted Mofo to be aware that we weren't reading Mike Reiss in drag.

That info can be found under the Patriots Mock Draft Database sticky

I wonder how the board would react if we drafted Barwin for the sole purposes of making him a TE.

I'd be thrilled. ST is where everyone starts and my boy CB happens to like the Red Zone as a TE which also happens to be a "weakness" of ours of late.

Kyle Brady says hello. BB snagged him with high hopes but things just didn't work out. Because things didn't work out with KB doesn't mean BB still wouldn't entertain the thought of improving upon that position. My boy CB is reportedly reputed to do well at that position plus he shows potential for OLB.

We're going to do very well in this draft no matter if we get CB or not, but CB brings some bang for our buck if we're lucky enough to see him maybe drop.

Personally I hope the negative press keeps on coming, I hope by the time the press gets done roasting him he becomes an afterthought on April 25th.

I hope he sinks like a rock. Let's ressurect that "Barwin Is Overrated" thread again; Mayock obviously reads this board

The April 8 Path to the Draft program caught people's attention for Mayock stating Robert Ayers would be the best defensive player in this draft when they look back in three years; however, there was also a discussion on the Top Five DEs. The discussion was noteworthy for Charlie Casserly's list, which included the prospect who-must-not-be-named-lest-the-very-mention-of-his-name-lead-to-riots-and-other-civil-unrest as his #5 DE. Casserly is not the most reliable source for identifying 3-4 OLB prospects, but his record on DEs is much healthier. He of course insists the nameless one is a third round value, but was also quite certain this nameless prospect would be drafted much higher due to the premium on pass rushers - Charlie was rather complementary on the lad's pass rushing prowess. NFL.com does not yet have a clip of this segment up yet or I'd link to it for you.

Per Athlon Sports, an average of four defensive ends are drafted in round one and nine drafted in the first three rounds. Casserly's ranking is consistent with NFL Draft Scout's ranking of #31, which they consider a late first/early second selection. The #34 people may rejoice to know they are partnered with Charlie Casserly. I of course, remain adamant that the young gentleman is best selected with the #23 pick to ensure he wears NE colors for the foreseeable future.
