Superb move patriotscpfc, When you traded up with Indy I supposed you wanted a RB (this draft is the first in nfl history where no RB were taken in the first round) and when you trade down with me I supposed you were going to lose at least one of them (NO) but now you are on the clock with both of them, for me this is the steal of the draft.

I like the move as well... I was really really tempted to do this myself but with the Steelers moving up last year to get a falling Mendenhall, I didn't think it would be the best move to spend two first rounders on RB.

steal of the draft so far IMO

Thanks, character issues made me think twice, but then I figured that the Steelers would be a good team and locker room to straighten him out.

Max Unger interesting choice. So far the Pats going with a familiar theme of flexibility with their selections.

Taking Unger that high is dumb... He'd have been around later.

Also, why would the Cardinals draft another RB so early? They've got issues at CB, DE, and DT.

Somebody likes their offensive guards... If Unger is another Mankins this will go down as a nobrainer pick. But there are a lot of similarly rated 2nd round guards available in this year's draft.

BTW I'm going to predict that a WR goes to the Seahawks next. Name starts with an N.

With the loss of Tory Holt and Drew Bennett the Rams need wide receiver help and I had to go get Kenny Britt I believe he will help the team shore up its receiving core again.

I like a lot the versatility that Unger has, and the fact that he is zone-blocking offensive lineman. I tought that with Mankins and Neal and their contract expiring the Pats needed another young interior lineman, and for me nobody in this draft is better than Unger at that position.

I was thinking hard about Vante Davis @ 29 but after having a chat with a knowledgeable person on this draft board who for some reason did not get in on the contest But his advise did keep me from taking one of the top RB's at 29 but I did appreciate his help. I took Sean Smith strictly for his versatility at DB but Davis I had a very long look at. My talk of taking Beanie might have started the RB run??

Because they drafted Jason Jones in the 2nd round last year, they also signed Jovan Haye from the bucs this offseason and Tony Brown is still on the team, as WR they only signed Nate Washington and they only have the 35 yrs old Harper and Finnegan at CB.

Do you understand the difference between the 3-4 and the 4-3? The Titans run a 4-3. Means they need 2 DTs and 2 DEs. Not just ONE DT. They only have 3 DTs on the roster. Not 4. So they need another one both for the short term and long term.

Javon Haye is a DE, not a DT. Tony Brown is in the last year of his contract with the Titans.

At WR, the Titans have Nate Washington added to Justin Gage, Chris Davis, Lavelle Hawkins, Craphonso Thorpe and Paul Williams. Hawkins and Thorpe were just drafted last year.

When I look at Rob Brace compared to the WRs that were there and the CBs, I see Brace has having a higher over-all value.

Tim Hightower says HI.

He's a nice player but you can never have enough good RBs. NFL is quickly becoming a platoon league and RBs are quite susceptible to injury. See Morris, Maroney, and Jordan for details.

And btw Brace was a bit of a reach in the 1st round. You should have traded down and gotten more value if you really wanted him.

Oh, I understand that. Especially after Denver went through 9 RBs last year I think it was..

Just not sure that I'd have taken Moreno there with others still on the board.

2.8ypc says high.

Did you miss the part that says "perfect 1-2 combo" as well? Hightower is a good short yardage and goalline back.

Hightower was also a 4th round pick who can not be relied on to carry the entire workload as James is on the downslide and wont be running against tired defenses that have played 16 games already.

The original post of the Selections Thread has now been updated thanks to PATSNUTme. :woot:

They paid Arrington pretty good money as well.
4 years 10M.

Coming out of college I though he was going to make a good pro but I could see him being good in Denver. At the very least from what I saw of him he could be a decent 3rd down RB.
