We may be getting Peppers and also draft a LB but what about OL?
Brady must be protected at all costs imo. Wasn't Cassell sacked over 40 times last year and I still have nightmares about the Gman in the SB.
I do hope we get a solid OL this draft.

I would say yes. Draft a OT and move Kaczur inside. O'callaghan was a beast in college and it's too bad the injury bug has followed him to the pros.

Absolutely. I want William Beatty at 23 with or without Peppers (unless we somehow trade up from 23 to go after a top pick). I think he would anchor the left side for 10 years, and allow us to eventually move Matt Light to RT. Kaczur could be our swing tackle or could potentially move inside to RG.

We need a tackle AND a guard.
Light is getting old, Kaczur is below avg, Neal is old, we aren't paying Mankins when his deal expires, and Hochstein is old plus just a backup.

Herman Johnson looked good in his drills at LSU Pro day today dropped some lbs.

Yes, we could use both. And when you consider that the C/OG position is one of the draft's most talented, I'm inclined to believe we'll address this in the round 2-3 area.

We mind as well draft an offensive lineman to replace Mankins. Peppers is not going to allow us to sign Wilfork,Seymour and Mankins.

The Superbowl performance was pathetic. I want to spend #23 and #47 on OL.

Regardless if peppers is coming or not (I sorta like the idea, not sure about the cap implications though) I would jump, gladly, on the ship with a OL at #23. We aren't getting any younger there and a solid lineman should be available.

Its not a glamour position but its important to the team and Brady.

Dude, watch the tape Beatty is softer than the Easter Bunny! We want nasty not the son of two preachers! Ugh!

Five all-pro OL guys can not help Brady if Morris and company don't learn how to finish blocks properly.

Peppers has little to do with it. Each of the players is in a deifferent position. Wilfork COULD be extended this year withour Peppers, but it seems unlikely.

WILFORK
I expect Wilfork to be extended. We could franchise him if necessary, but I think that we will come up with the money.

SEYMOUR
If next year is uncapped, I expect us to franchise Seymour. Seymour can get more money elsewhere, so when he has a chance he will be gone. We should be drafting a replacement.

MANKINS
Is anyone here ready to pay the going rate for all-pro guard? Kraft is very unlikely to do so. If next year is uncapped, Mankins will be an RFA and we will keep him for a year.

NEAL (unmentioned)
His contract also end this year. A guard seems to be in order.

I want an OT drafted, based on the general opinion that this draft is a strong class of OT's. A decent swing-tackle would be great. A jack-of-all-trade type like Max Unger would be pretty sweet too.

Positions of need I rate as OLB, SS, OL and DL. In that order too.

None of these positions are weak per se but can be upgraded with a promising player in the coming years....

A lot of draftniks are projecting Wood of Louisville to be able to play C or OG. He might be available at#47.

Although I prefer Unger in the late 20's after we trade down 4-6 spots for a 2010 pick.

Unger, Mack and Wood are all fine picks.

For OG? I am not sure Mack can play OG.

A lot of draftniks are talking about Levitre in round 2, but an OL guy with short arms is dicey at best. Although he did spank USC defenders badly last season.

That seems to happen to USC more often then people seem to think.

I'd like an OT early, not wild about taking a OG early but would be ok with it anywhere but at pick no.23.

Tackles are expensive to acquire and I don't want to be in a position like Carolina and Atlanta were last year to have to overpay to get one.

A lot of the best Guards were college tackles who convert to guard in the pros, long term projects, and smaller school guys. The Pats should be able to find a good guard prospect in the middle to late rounds.

Yes, Yes, Yes.
I want a tackle on day 1.
Move Light to the right side, and draft a left tackle.
