BB: 19-0 or bust...We're going for it!!!!

Do you guys agree though that the 18-1 gash in our hearts will never be healed unless we miraculously went 19-0?

Even if we won the Superbowl, you would STILL think about that game.

If we can get in the playoffs at 8-8 then win the SB, thats as good as any other record to me that ends in a SB win.
There is one exception though. After coming one play away from 19-0 and having it end so horrifically, it would be sweet revenge to go 19-0. But I will take anything-anything with a title over a repeat of 18-1, or anything that ends with a loss.

I would be perfectly happy to lose the first eight games with that result, since it would have the added bonus of being able to enjoy the season without the perfect season bandwaggoners who will have already jumped out the window by week three.

Do we not learn from BB not to count our chickens before they're hatched, to take it one game at a time?

To recap, 18-0, left our "A" game around the 3/4 pole.

Revenge season, lose our QB in the first game.

Take your lithium and enjoy the draft and the preseason and get ready for game one.

And remember, the games at the end count a lot more than the ones at the beginning.

No
I will be perfectly happy about simply winning the next SB with the disaster then 2 years in hindsight.

It bothered me more losing the AFCCG to the Colts than losing to the Jints who were better coached that day, played better and played harder. They deserved to win. I can accept a loss like that better than the debacles of the 2 prior post seasons. That said, I will never again watch a moment of that SB.

And 19-0 means nothing to me. I said that in 2007 as well. All I want is the ring, no matter what the prior W-L record.

Nice to hear some real talk from some of the more distinguished posters on this forum. Ray Clay and PWP, I'm with you guys. Let's just be happy and upbeat about our recent additions, get excited for the draft, hope for a somewhat injury free season, (or at least nothing like last yr) and take a page from our Canton bound head coach, who states "one game at a time."

Well it is the offseason so I guess it will be a Jags/Jets AFC Championship game.Oh wait that was last year.

Who are this years offseason darlings?

I'll settle for another 18-1 as long as the one isn't the last game of the year this time.

And I still say if the Pats had been 17-1 going into that game they would have won it. My theory is they expended so much energy on going 16-0 that there was nothing left in the tank when they really needed it in AZ.

As much as a perfect season would rock, I would be happier with the SB win.

We already won more games than the Fish did in theirs so it is still a huge

accomplishment. After we win the SB this year it will settle all the disputes

about the team of the decade, us and sh**sburgh. More SB wins, more SB

apperances, more AFCCG visits and titles.

yeah 19/0 is just so mentally exhausting

I don't care about going 19-0. Okay, that's kind of a lie. I just don't think I could handle the post-season anxiety if they had another undefeated regular season.

After the SB That Shall Forever Remain Numberless to Me, I cried. I mean fall down on the floor crying. If my dog was Lassie, it would have called 911 crying. And drank. A lot. My liver still cramps up just thinking about it. I cannot watch highlights of that game to this day, and don't think I will ever be able to. If it happened again, it would kill me. You hear me? KILL ME!

I would be beyond ecstatic with four in the decade, and I don't care how they get it record-wise!

And that is the last I shall speak of 19-0. Good day, sir! I SAID GOOD DAY!

Ahem. Okay, I'm all better now.

If your dog was Lassie then your name would be Timmy and you wouldn't be so inclined towards emotional outbursts a dozen or so times a year.

Also don't let the fog of the Super Bowl loss cloud the pride you have for the undefeated regular season. I'll never forget it.

I don't know, I'm thinking the Redskins and Bills may be the '09 media darlings; although the Jets do seem to have a stranglehold recently on being named champions in August. Pittsburgh will certainly be declared champions by many again because the easiest thing to do is select last year's winner; while others will decide that Arizona has no chance due to the "curse" of losing last year.

Untill the Kraft Media Group releases the Blue Ray and Dvd of the 2007 season the video highlights from every game can be found here.

Well, that and sucking.

No.

Another Super Bowl victory would be very sweet, regardless of the team's record. Time eases the pain somehat, but the only way it is completely removed is with a subsequent Super Bowl victory. That was true after the SB losses to Chicago and Green Bay; was true for Denver fans after losing SBs when the NFC was superior; and is true for the pain that Buffalo fans still feel whenever they hear '0-4' or 'wide right'.

Another championship means no mre having to hear '18-1' or 'can't win without videotaping' or any of the other BS opposing fans love to throw at Pats fans.

Yeah, that may have been a bad example. I was really hoping the Pats would win last year because ... well, because I'm a Pats fan; but also because I wanted to shut these idiots up about the stupid "Super Bowl curse."

Is that "curse" about not winning the SB the next year, or just returing to the playoffs or SB? If the Pats were to get to the SB and beat Kurt Warner - again - does that mean the media would have to drop their theory of a SB curse, Pats haters would have to admit video taping had nothing to do with the three prior Lombardis, Pats would seal any debate about team of the decade, and Steeler fans would be vomiting in their own obsessive paranoid worries about losing claim to most Super Bowl victories?

The so-called "curse" states that the team that loses a Super Bowl will not make the playoffs the next year. It's mainly been around since 1999, when both SB teams failed to make the playoffs the following year. Since then, IIRC, the only team to break the "curse" has been the 2006 Seahawks.

I could go on about how an 11-5 team not making the playoffs really shouldn't count, but we've had that discussion already this year.

What I think would be more interesting would be to find all the teams that won the SB and didn't make the playoffs the next year, including the '99 Broncos, the '06 Steelers and the '02 (oh never mind.)

In the words of internet ******s globe-wide, "write this down". When we win the Lombardi this year, we will be called in for "buying" a Championsip. We will be call Yankees South, Alternate Team.

I don't think there is a debate. Those who try to make one are morons. The Pats clearly are the team of the decade.
