LaDainian Tomlinson may have trouble staying classy with that Charger's pick.

Edit: I think Pittsburgh would grab Alex Mack rather than DJ Moore, too.

Just my opinion.

I'd prefer to stay at #23 and take Clay Matthews ourselves..... Nice effort though:eat1:

I like the trade but personally don't agree with the English pick, but it can certainly be justified (and I would prefer him to Matthews for our defense anyway). But what I really love about your draft is who isn't in the 1st round (and therefore likely to be available at #34, and possibly later):

- William Beatty OT
- Alex Mack, Eric Wood and Max Unger OG/C
- Connor Barwin, Robert Ayers, Michael Johnson and Clint Sintim at DE/LB
- All 4 of the safeties: Louis Delmas, Sean Smith, William Moore and Patrick Chung
- DE Jarron Gilbert

Assuming your 1st round, I would like to use one of our day 2 picks (#89 or the #119 acquired from Baltimore) to move up from 58, and ideally come away with:

- one OL (preferably Beatty, but otherwise one of the 3 OG/C prospects)
- one DE/LB (Barwin > Ayers > Johnson > Sintim in my book), with English possibly moving inside to SILB
- one S (Delmas > Smith > Moore = Chung in my book)

Alternately, I would like to package some of the 3rd-4th round picks and move up into the 2nd round to get Jarron Gilbert as well. That would be a very nice draft.

I like English in that spot. And moving down to add some value. Nice call. But I couldnt help but notice you have Matthew Stafford dropping all the way to 16. As much as I believe anything is possible, I just dont see Detroit passing on him 1st overall, and risking him being there anywhere past the Niners at 10. Interesting thought. But this is the Lions we're talking about.

Some good thinking, thanks. I'm a big fan of mocks that project logical trades, it seems weirdly artificial to ignore that possibility.

One pick that leaps out at me is Alphonso Smith to Miami. That doesn't sound like Parcells' style -- he loves him some big bodies, especially in round one. If they go DB, I'd think Sean Smith is the much likelier choice either at CB or S. And they have a definite need at OLB, which Parcells has made a career of drafting high (McGinest, Farrior, Ware, Carpenter, etc.)

And while I'm picking away, Pettigrew is very iffy value for the Eagles (in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Nelson leapfrogged him as the first TE off the board). I'd write in Beatty there. Oh, and up at #3 -- are the Chiefs giving up on Glenn Dorsey? I haven't followed that drama.

Wouldn't Dorsey be a DE in a 34
