Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why.....

The steeler fans are the most classless, obnoxious fan base i've ever seen.
I can understand a fan to dislike a rival player, and when that player got hurt, they feel good about their favorite team's chance on winning the SB, but you don't make a t-shirt to celebrate the player's injury, you just don't do that if you're a human being. Only steeler fans can make those non sense.
So I will defitnetly cheer for the Cardinals.

Or play Santana's "Smooth" as they're taking the guy off on a stretcher. . . . Worthless excuses for human beings.

I can't stand the squealers or their fans.....I respect Warner, go Cards!

We are the team of the decade. We have manhandled the Steelers every time we face them (with TFB).

Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why...

Pittsburgh fans.

Those people, paranoid about the legacy of 70's Steelers, have made it a part of their existance to downplay the Patriots dynasty.

Imagine if the Steelers can lay claim to TWO Super Bowl titles since the last time the Patriots won their last one. Not to mention, it would be their 6th Super Bowl title.

Even if the Patriots would have a 3 to 2 lead in the decade, the what have you done for me now media will start trumpeting the Steelers as a legitimate possible claim holder to "team of the decade" status. CBS would probably love it, as they could set up the Patriots and Steelers all year next year as a 70's type Steeler-Cowboy decade deciding battle.

But who needs to hear those yahoos all year long.

Please Arizona, kick the yellow out the Steelers butts!!!!!!!!!!

Like you, I'm pulling for Arizona. But, I don't think we should be too bothered by what the Steelers' fans think. Instead, I think we should be motivated to see the Pats match, over time, the remarkable accomplishment of the Rooney's and their franchise. Yeah, they've won five SB's and gone to six, but they also went 26 years between SB wins. This is a franchise and ownership that understands what it means to be committed to excellence in the NFL. And, having the Pats-Steelers of today compared to the Cowboys-Steelers of the '70's would be quite a compliment in the eyes of anyone who understands the history of the league. 30 other teams would give their right elbows to be included in the comparison.

A little perspective is useful. To my mind, the Patriots' true "history" began in 1994 when Bob Kraft more or less strongarmed the Orthweins into selling him the team. Prior to that event, the Patriots had never even sold out an entire season, so diffuse was their fan base and so marginal their support. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I think that Kraft paid a little under 200 mill for what was one of the most worthless franchises in the NFL; a franchise that had made the playoffs only five or six times in over 30 years (including an improbable trip to SB XX to be massacred by the Bears). So, three rings and five trips to the SB in just 14 seasons is a tribute to the commitment of the Krafts to this franchise and its fans; what's more, it's a sign of what the future might bring.

So, by all means, let's cheer for Arizona to keep the Steelers' record of SB wins within our grasp; but, let's also be aware that if the Cards win people will start comparing Warner to TB as the QB of the decade, having taken two different teams to three SB's and winning two of them along with two league MVP's.

Choosing between a fluke team that we beat by 40 and a tough team that plays the game the way they should be I'd have to root for the Steelers.

Yeah, they've got some whiners, but they play hard nosed football.

and i can totally appreciate this sentiment except i keep going back to that t-shirt. that and the fact that their female fans need to shave more than the men do wont let me root for them.

Even though Kurt Warner makes me vomit, I have to root for Arizona because This is Tom Brady's decade.. This is the Pats Decade, no multiple SB for any other team..

I would never for a second consider rooting for the Steelers.

Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why.....

What Patriot fan would root for the Squeelers anyway?
This one...

...If the Giants had made the Superbowl.

OK I'm convinced, I'll root againts the Steelers. The fact that the little guy has been peeing on them for 2 weeks, has nothing to do with it.

In a fluke year where an 11-5 team doesn't make the playoffs, but an 8-8 team does... the fluke team seems like the perfect fit.

Oh... and they're not the Pittsburgh "sometimes the better team doesn't win" Steelers.

I'm not rooting for anyone........I'm going to have fun at this year's SB party......probably get smashed........anything is better than last years debacle

but if I must, I'm going with the steelers........and I'm hoping the difference is like 60 points or something.........the cardinals did not deserve to be in the playoffs just like the chargers didn't deserve to be there

it will be nice to see who will win between Arz offense and Pit defense

from my side too: Go Cards !

I hope they do, i am tired of the PM-TFB comparison, although that will continue and is probably more worthly that Kurt W. I like Warner and would welcome his presence in the discussion with TB, but I don't think most would put him ahead of TB simply becuase his body of work - other than 4 full seasons, true three of them went to the SB, the others are journeyman type years . . .

Regarding the Steeler legacy of this year, I would put the Pats-steeler comparsion closer to the 70's Steeler-Raiders comparsion. . . Where one team has 4 SBs, the other 2, and the one with the 4 has getting the better of the one that has 2. . . the only difference is that the pats only have three as oppsed to 4 SBs . . .

I am cheering for the Cards

I hate the trash talking squeelers,Go Cards!!!!!!
