Yeah, that streak's lasting a long time. I mean, come on. The guy's a top-notch CB and a real ballhawk. He was hugely missed this year.

He's a good player. I just don't begrudge the Patriots for paying him the kind of money he got from Philly. The Patriots would have been better this year with him, but just because he's been given some gimme INTs in the playoffs this year doesn't mean he would have gotten us another Super Bowl ring.

Did I mention he's made of glass?

Where were you on the first drive where he took a horrible risk and got burnt for what should have been a TD? Were you missing him then?

I'm sure some of the CB's that were cut in preseason could have made that INT.

So would the Pats have done with Samuel and Randy Moss playing somewhere else? There was no way the Pats were keeping both guys. Who would would hurt the Pats more by being missing? People don't get that at some point a player gets to be too expensive to keep.

My guess is with the lack of a decent pass rush for most of the season, Samuel would have made a far less impact than Moss. Besides, other than maybe the Chargers' game, can you point to a loss where the pass defense was the biggest reason for the loss?

had proved over the years that he is one of the best ball hawking corners in the league. Is he a shutdown corner? No. Does he take risks? of course. but there is no denying that he is a game changer. I wish the Pats would have kept him, but at the price he was asking it was obvious that he would be leaving. The pats undervalue the position, in my opinion.

I think that part is the key the those pining for the guy keep missing. If the Patriots had given Samuel his money, they'd have been looking at having to sign Wilfork and company with a lot loss money available. I prefer having Seymour, Warren and Wilfork to only having 2 of them and Samuel.

First play of the first drive, no less.

Yeah, our buddy got REAL lucky that Ellie couldn't make an easy throw there.

I think what a lot of you who are saying the Pats couldn't have afforded Samuel are missing is that the Pats could have been proactive by locking him up to a long-term contract before his price got out of control. With other players, Warren most recently, they've managed to do that.

The Pats have a GREAT organization, guys. That doesn't mean they're perfect. Too many of you feel that any criticism is disloyal or something.

Did you see that interception by Mikell?!...............Man! that was all because of Assante!.......I knew we should have re-signed him. He makes everyone better.

Whether or not the Pats should have signed Assante is irrelavent to me. The Patriots did not do a good job replacing his services, IMO. It's really that simple for me. They need to do a better job this offseason.

Actually, we feel that it's ridiculous to make threads about wishing Samuel were still in New England based upon interceptions that any NFL caliber cornerback could come up with.

he just dissed the pats in a post game radio interview saying that he could not have picked a better place to play and that he was asked about how this eagles team compares to the pats he said has never played with a defense this good

C'mon Cardinals!

Please end my nightmare of the Eagles going to the Superbowl.

I see corners drop sure interceptions every week. It doesn't matter how he is doing it or how difficult it looks, he is doing his job. I expected to see the usual bitter suspects downplaying his play, and I was right.

So you're saying that Samuel is an average "NFL caliber" cornerback? OK, I guess we disagree on that.
