I bet the Pats are watching this and are friggin' pissed. The division "champ" comes out and plays like this?! We are taking care of business next year. No need for help, no silly tiebreakers, the Pats are earnin' and burnin' next year. Snappin' necks and cashin' checks - ugh to imagine Miami got to play while NE sat at home....MOTIVATION!

No kidding. At least the frauds got embarrassed.

If we stay healthy.

Do you know something we don't? like IF Brady returns in 2009 and if not IF Cassel is kept and if not WHO or which veteran QB will take over?

All I can say is I would bet my house that O'Connell will not be the starting QB in 2009...I think he will still not be ready for that yet,He looks O.K. but Matt Ryan's and Joe Flacco's success in their 1st seasons don't grow on trees

Ed Reed is money. Boy, he'd look good in a pats jersey

Well said:rocker: Snappin necks and cashin checks

i thought atlanta was gonna win

and then i bet on the SD, but wasnt 100% sure

tonight i have no idea waht to think

but this game was easy to call, Miami shouldnt have earned a postseason berth, they were ridiculously bad this year, and got amazingly lucky

miami will return to earth next year, issing a playoff berth, and getting no better then .500

the pats would have whooped that Miami ass, and at least made it a game
ohh, and our first year starter woudlnt have thrown 4 int's, while winning an award

We did whoop their arses.. when they didn't have the Wildcat to hide behind and it became a proper football game.

Kudos to Sparano/Tuna for thinking that one up, but the Fins were found out in the rematch.

I can't believe the Dolphins choked in the 1st round today. But I gotta give credit to the Ravens for having a great D. Also, even though this defeat really stings, the Dolphins still performed well above expectations this season.

Did last year's Super Bowl loss quarantee a year of unbelievable dominance this season?

Flacco wasn't great, but he didn't kill them, either. I'd be surprised to see any team in the AFC next week score more than 14 points. I'm all for defensive football, but come on ...

So I take it you used to fall asleep during our games back in '03 and '04?

I think by the end of the season the Pats were a little better team than the Fins, but I'm still not sure they would have beaten the Ravens. Even in Foxboro.

Cassell wouldn't have thrown 4 picks and the score is probably closer, but I think it's still a loss. The Ravens D is really good this year--Super Bowl good.

Not to take anything away from Baltimore's defense(they're good), but any of the playoff team's defenses would've looked "super bowl" good against that putrid offense. IMO the Pats would've beaten the Ravens in Foxborough.

Miami stole three or four games this year by springing the Single Wing from the depths of football history. It took that long for new players and their coaches to coach the players how to handle the old-fangled Wildcat /Single Wing. By season's end all teams had had their coaching and instruction and nobody fell for the trick.

Still it a credit to the Miami Coaches for finding a surprise game-plan to win a few games they had no business winning. But the time is past for the single Wing and it was evident in its failure this playoff game.

I agree the Jets are falling apart and Miami was a mirage of single wing surprises and a very weak schedule. Only the Bills are fundamentally sound, will get better, and able to compete with the Patriots next season in the AFCE.
