Yep, being east and west of Hartford makes me an uber-douchebag.

Although I am from Foxboro, I am now very concerned about the good people of Hartford.

You have tagged people east and west, far and wide, yet, the insuance center of the universe was totally left out of the equation.

Ok guys can someone clear things up for me regarding visiting fans.
I have been to one Patriots game, that was in New England many moons ago.
I wore my Doug Flutie Calgary Stampeders CFL jersey to the game, great conversation starter, saw no trouble.
Now, I will finally get to see another game in Seattle this time taking my wife along with me to the game, she is by no means a fan of either the team or sport but would love to experience a game. I will be wearing my Pats Jersey, but my wife is a little worried. Now the reason is we are both English and know that visiting fans at soccer games back home do not sit in amongst home team fans. Now I'm a veteran of many "away days" following Manchester United around England and Europe and have been in some bad situations, so here in Canada being mixed in with other teams fans seemed strange at first but I have got used to it and love the banter with them. Would you say its good natured in Seattle (knowing there is always idiots where ever you go).

Thanks
Andy

From all accounts I've heard, Seahawks fans are pretty civil folks. People in that part of the country tend to be nice folks by and large. I'll be going to that game too wearing Pats gear, so if anyone gives you any trouble, refer them to me. :singing:

I haven't heard a lot of negative reports about Seattle fans. I'd be more worried if you were attending a Jets or Raiders game. You should be fine.

LOL will do.
Just really trying to figure out what the score is here with traveling fans.
Seems a lot more civilized here then I read this report and wondered if this was the norm lol

technically, if all of the people east and west of hartford are douchebags, the only non-douchebags are the people of the town of hartford, and all towns that:

1.) Are smaller than Hartford (unless the town is a long skinny shape)
and
2.) Directly north or south of Hartford
and
3.) Hartford must overlap the East and West boundaries of these towns

And, of course, anyone who's visited Hartford knows that the people there are all douchebags....

What I want to know: what defines "douchebag" behavior, and is it often skewed by ethnic origin/racial demographics? Or, does mere geographic location provide reasonably definitive frame of reference?

not as many hispanics there i bet, as you seem to point out in the last 3 posts you've made in this thread about san diego

So it is now racist to point out the ethnicity of the group being asses to you?

What a bunch of sensitive *****es we have in this country. I lived in San Antonio for 3 years and discovered that most of the older Mexicans (over 40) were the nicest people you would ever meet, but most of the mexicans in their 20's were the biggest punks you would ever meet. Does that make me a racist or just pointing out a factual observation?

Seriously get over yourself and whatever ****ed up guilt/sensitivity you have.

Is it racist when the Mexicans call a white person a gringo? Or a black to refer to a white guy as a white boy?

We have different color skin , but sshh don't tell anyone!

As a Charger fan I think I would have punched that Charger fan. Dude needed to be ejected and his season tickets taken away. Spitting on a girl?? Or anyone? Pathetic. Unacceptable. A stain on our fine city. For what it's worth I did not see any incidents described here.

Dude stop apologizing for your city. Idiots live everywhere and honestly it happens every Sunday. I have been to multiple NFL stadiums and for the most part all of the trash talk has been good natured. Except for Cincy last year, I almost got into a fight with a guy (just to piss off the sensitives, a black guy ) because he was a pompous ***** with a weak blatter. What can I say I can hold my own when it comes to taking a piss. :D

But the man just couldn't except that and somehow along the way my brother became my girlfriend according to this STRAIGHT BLACK MAN!

What a racist bigot this straight black male was. It made me want to slap him right across the face!

True story!

Precisely. I had the same reaction to the story as in - how is the fact that these thugs are hispanic relevant to the story? If Tunescribe had been accosted by four white guys with green eyes and brown hair, would he have described the encounter as "this group of white guys with green eyes and brown hair"...blah, blah, blah? Of course not, because the race/physical characteristic of the guys is not relevant. The only reasons to mention either are

1. you're trying to get help with an ID

2. you're implying that their behaviour is somehow related to their race

However, in this forum, anything but the most blatantly obvious comment, e.g. "i hate blacks", is accepted which is a reflection of the culture of the region. Accept it and move on.

Wow, it didn't take much to pull the biggest racist on the board out of the cellar and into the spotlight!!!

Welcome to the real forum... You know where most folks post!

True story!

I'll be at the Bungals/Steelers game tomorrow (corporate seats with guys from work). I'll be sure to look your friend up and tell him you said hello ;)

Should be interesting as half of the 8 guys are Steelers fans and will be decked out in team colors.
