I loved this guy when he played here, although I am finding that my respect for him is dwindling the more he says about the Patriots on ESPN. This whole lack of respect thing in terms of going for it on fourth down, at any point, not just against the Colts, is getting old. Technically, with that rationale, NOT going for it on fourth would be disrespecting the offense.

If the defense wants respect, why don't they step up and stop the Colts at some point in the second half, and maybe they would have gotten a chance to stop them. Oh right, they did...

Just because you don't like what he said it doesn't mean he has to shut up. He should say all great things about the pats to make you happy? Come on now some of you here sound like you want to live in North Korea. He is giving his opinion and that's about it. I respect his opinion although I disagree with it.

I want to hear more from him, personally. He knows this Franchise better than anyone, and that includes Belichick and Brady.

He's insightful, intelligent and very very good with his thoughts and opinions.

He's generally been good but I disagree with him 100% on the 4th down comments.

Tedy is still very much emotionally attached to the game through a player's perspective and that makes him less than objective, especially when it comes to the Patriots. In matters like this he's speaking for himself vs. giving balanced, reasonably considered insight.

While I agree that he's got a right to say what he wants, and I love hearing from him... I think that he puts too much emphasis on this one play... both he and Rodney aren't coaching. They're mediots now ;)

Conventional wisdom said punt. Winning wisdom said go for it. It wasn't about disrespect, it wasn't about thinking his defense coudln't do it... If that was the case, he would have made Peyton march the length of the field instead of giving his DEF a short field.

I doubt BB disrespected his DEF by giving his OFF the opportunity to slam the door shut on Peyton.

I thought Brady had a very pointed remark about Bruschi today on EEI, in effect telling him to shut up when he referred to Bruschi being on the field for the defensive meltdown against Manning in the AFCCG. On paper, it might not sound like much, but if you heard Brady say it, you could tell he was pretty PO.ed at Bruschi for ripping into Belichick.

First of all, he is an analyst now and is not restricted by the "cone of silence" of the dressing room. He disagrees with the decision and he probably echoes the thoughts of most of the players on the defensive side of the ball. Hopefully the players see it as a challenge, but I certainly see tedy's and rodney's perspective. Quite frankly, I agree with them.

I love Bruschi, but his crazy ranting last night came off as him just trying to get attention for himself and make his presence on ESPN more known rather than giving a good analysis of the situation.

Bruschi should have said the defense disrespected Belichick by letting the Colts score from the 28 in 4 freaking plays.

If the Colts 4th TD drive had taken just a little longer than it did, we're most likely not even having this conversation. They went down so ridiculously fast it wasn't even funny.

The defense had plenty of chances to stop the Colts, and Manning got 2 TDs in the previous 3 drives, with the last one taking under 2 minutes to drive across the field. The defense had already choked hard whether they punted or not.

Eh, Bruschi is an emotional guy...couple that with his moment to advance his media career.....well, we have BINGO!

The more I think about the 4th down call....the more I understand it. The defense was not playing well in the fourth after playing very well the first three quarters. They were gassed. No Warren, No Green. No Banta-Cain. Momentum was with the Colts. Still donlt like it. But I clearly understand it.

Bruschi must have lost track of how many members of the DL were gone by the end of the game. It was 4 by my count and when you're relying on the invisible AT and Burgess to step up in the last series you're in trouble. Anyone can see the biggest weakness for this team is a pass rushing DL.

I think Bruschi is just trying to be the anti rodney, over compensating trying to seem unbiased, but in turn piling on his former team to do so. You gotta remember he doesn't have to toe the company line anymore.

That is why Espn ranting and raving and drawing attention to one self... It was a gutsy move, but Belichick knew his defense was gassed, and not able to handle manning... Dilfer and Brushci are making arses of themselves.. But I dont fault Bruschi for being not a homer, but Brady even said, Tedy was on the field when Manning drove less than 2 min 80 yards down the field..

    What's what I see here..

Like there's anything wrong with that; it's clear he still loves his team.

I understand where he's coming from and have no problem with what he says.

Tedy is looking at it from a defensive players point of view, not the big picture. He is letting his emotion rule his opinion. Maybe that is why he is working at ESPN and not on the Patriot coaching staff.

Amazingly we were all singing his praises on his pregame analysis of this game.

    One star rating.

Give up reading his stuff if you don't like him. And the amount of disrespect you show to a Patriot's all time great is astonishing.
