Who subscribes to the Mike Felger theory that Branch >> Moss??

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for The Branchise for being a reliable target for Brady for four productive seasons. But Moss (and Welker, for that matter) totally obliterate him in the pecking order as impact receivers.
And the fact that Branch had defensive playmakers who could win the game and step up in key situations when needed, unlike Moss who has had aging former stars who couldn't step up when needed too.

Why?

Branch has been the better Patriot ... what's wrong with saying that?

It's not about stats ... all that matters is the rings ... that's how Belichick coaches the team isn't it?

A. Smith > C. Dillon
B. Johnson > R. Moss

Is this really the road you want to go down?

Wow, that's a great point. So I guess Bethel Johnson is a "better Patriot" than Randy Moss too, right? Lay off the drugs, son.

Lots of Branch hate in this thread ... kind of sad really.

Well ... if Moss leaves for another team perhaps Branch will make a recovery.

Moss has no rings ... even he knows that ... rings are everything.

A. Smith > C. Dillon
B. Johnson > R. Moss

Smith had some great games in cold weather when we needed him.
Dillon earned himself a ring.
Dillon was a better runner no question but Smith preformed when he needed to.

Moss has great stats and is a HOF player ... you're deflecting here.

This is not about stats ... it's about who has been a champion ... that isn't Moss.

Moss has never helped his team win a championship ... that is a fact.

Moss winning a championship was not the argument... that is a fact.

... and the clarifications begin.

My entry in this thread was simply saying branch is a proven $$$ player compared to Moss. he has the rings to prove it. So then I have to put up with the who is a better player stuff.

Of course Moss is a greater player ... a HOF player.
But Branch is the greater Patriot ... he has rings to prove it.

You think Moss would cash his records in for a ring?

Would branch cash in his rings for a record?

You guys just hate Felger and there is a serious hate for branch in this thread ... oh well ... to each his own.

Nobody hates Branch and wants to tug Moss, the fact is they have played on different Patriots teams with different dynamics.

The reality is Moss is the better receiver for his ability and Branch was the beneficiary of a golden era. He's still in my mind a good wideout just not a great wideout like Moss.

I don't know Felger personally, so I've got no hate for the man. I like Branch and would be happy to have him back on the team if he was available and would be useful.

Your argument just sucks.

Hey, if you wanna argue that Brady is better than Manning because of the rings, this is what you get.

Anyone who thinks Branch is anywhere near as good as Moss is an idiot.

Would branch cash in his rings for a record?

Well, he kinda did, didn't he? Money was more important to him, clearly.

Is J'Rod Cherry a better Patriot than Moss?

did he do anything in a big game to be a champion other than be on the roster?

Players play for championships ... the $$$ is the business side ... the rings are personal.

Is J'Rod Cherry a better Patriot than Moss?

He gave the rings back ... You're reaching now.

Answer the Question.

Is J'Rod Cherry a better Patriot than Randy Moss?

You're reaching now ... give it a rest.

Is Cherry a Super Bowl MVP ... did he produce to win his ring.

Well let's see it's kind of hard to rate CB's but we'll take a look.

2001 SB vs Rams he had 3 tackles.

2003 SB vs Panthers he had 1 tackle.

2004 vs Eagles he had 0 tackles.

So ... not much of a contributor to the rings.

Branch 2003 ... 10 receptions for 143 yards ... major contribution.
More catches than Smith and Muhammad combined.;)

Branch 2004 ... 11 receptions for 133 yards ... major contribution.
Terrel Owns was 9/122 btw ... and oh ... no ring for T.O.

Cherry went along for the ride ... Branch earned his rings ...

Anymore inane deflections?

TO was FAR more impressive in the '04 Superbowl than Branch as he was playing with a broken leg! Yet... he didn't get a ring...

Here you are saying that "performing" in big games is what makes Branch the "winner", yet Moss has outperformed him in the playoffs by a long shot. That is a fact. So just because Branch was lucky enough to be on the right team doesn't mean he is the better player.

Never ever said said Branch was a better player
... read the posts I made before putting words in my posts.

Branch wasn't lucky either ... he had 2 shots and was the best receiver on the field both games.

Oh, my bad, you said Branch was the "more important Patriot". More important = more valuable. the most "valuable" players on a team are the best players, thus, Moss is the more valuable player, as he is a better player than Branch, thus the more valuable, thus more important." There. Is that better?

Stretching the words again ... you must feel defeated.

No, I'm not. You're saying Branch is a better patriot because he has rings. Well, J'Rod Cherry has rings. More than Randy Moss. He must be a better patriot, per your logic.

Are you trying to make some sort of argument that breaking the nfl single season touchdown record isn't a "major contribution?"

They're totally different receivers. If we're running a 2-minute drill in a tough game, I'd take Branch... him and Brady were ALWAYS on the same page. As for an entire season, yeah... Moss wins easily.
