Nice work massaging the stats, there. For people who want a true representation, read below:
Faulk had pretty poor ball security all the way through 2006. He had 23 fumbles in his first 908 career touches (1/39.5 touches, 1999-2006), but he's only had 2 fumbles on 387 touches since then.
Six of Faulk's first 8 years with the pats he had a worse touches/fumble number than Ridley did this year.

I don't understand what you are attempting to prove out. You are taking individual years and trying to lay those as a basis for comparing fumbling tendencies for Ridley vs Faulk.
Lets try this again.
From 1999-2000, Faulk fumbled once ever 32.7 touches.
From 2001 on, Faulk fumbled once every 62.6 touches.
In 03, his heaviest workload in the BB era he fumbled once every 56.5 touches.
In the postseason, in 139 touches hes fumbled once.
It's fair to say that in 01, 04-06 he fumbled more than he should have. Fair point.
Take out 5 fumbles for KR &PR and the numbers are better as we are adding the total fumbles without adding the KR & PR touches. With that said, in 282 KR and PR touches, he fumbles once every 56 times.
Overall, Faulk's career clearly shows he pretty reliable with the football.
In his brief career, Ridley has fumbled twice in 94 touches for once every 47 touches. As a body of work, not bad but the problem is that he has fumbled twice in two straight games and has yet to demonstrate that kind of track record that indicates he is not a fumbler.
